Ledfords on the Trail of Tears

I had a query about "our" Ledfords and thought you might be able to answer the questions for me. It concerns the supposed Cherokee factor. If I remember correctly, you and I both descend from Jesse M. Ledford, Sr. and Elizabeth McCurry. I descend through their daughter, Sarah Athaline. She married William Hodgins. My grandmother was their daughter, Anzonette Kansas Hodgins McClure. Do you know of any proven Cherokee ties in Jesse's family?
Thanks for any Ledford input you can give me. My first cousin's son-in-law is a genealogy buff and has decided to work on our family also. I want to encourage him all I can. He had been told that some of our Ledfords were on the Trail of Tears and asked me about it. That was a new one on me.

Solomon's father was Isaac. His wife's name was Barbara? Solomon had 6 brothers and sisters. One of his brothers is my GGG grandfather. My mother was a Ledford. Her name is Violet. Her father was Ferman. His father was Erain Lee (BABE) Ledford. His father was Isaac. Erain is Solomon's brother. I hope this helps you a little. I do have a little more info.
Leadford/Ledford/Binkley

I have been trying to research Leadford/Ledford/Binkley. William E. Leadford, married Nannie Binkley before 1901. I have their death certificates from Alabama. Nannie was born in TN, and William was born in GA, or TN, both places have been listed. Nannie 34 yr-old, and her 3 yr-old son was killed in an accident, May 2, 1909, and William died in Sept 1910 of tuberculosis, Birmingham, Al. Two other sons, William Lester age 8, and John Franklin age 4 or 5 were left orphaned and was under the guardianship of a lawyer, Mr. Addington or Adksions. Both boys are now dead, buried in NM and CA, respectively. John was my husband's father.
Nannie was born in TN, 1875, William was born 1872.
I have a newspaper clipping from the Dothan Eagle, Dothan Alabama, giving details on the accident that killed Nannie and baby Richard.
Nannie's death certificate listed her simply as Mrs. W.E. Leadford, her father as Joseph W. Binkley, and William's name listed as Wm. E. Leadford, his father was listed as Andrew Leadford.
When the accident occurred, they were on their way to the train depot to take a trip to Kenton, TN., where they were going to spend the summer.
They were also interned in Kenton, TN. But have not been able to find any marriage, burial, birth, or cemetery records. The only Nannie (Nancy) Binkley I have found born in TN 1875, was in Robertson, CO. Her father was Joseph W. Binkley, per 1880 Fed. Census.
I know most of this information you don't need but maybe you know someone who does. I have been in contact with Sara Tarpely Binkley in TN, she also has trouble tracking this family.
