Bonsteins History Pictures

The Original Home

Received 9 May 2005  from LoAnn Bonstein who got the pictures from Tanya Johnston

"OUR" Bonstein cousin.

The house on the left is the original

Bonnstein Homestead in Grossropperhausen,

Germany. If you haven't been to an old world country and away from areas that are modernized, it is hard to understand just how close the houses are, how narrow the streets with no sidewalks...  here on the right is the

corner of a house across from it you see two different houses the full side of one and the corner of another.

The area between is about 1 and 1/2 widths of a car,

and it is a street.

Stemmler House

Tanya's picture

(Note: see this street it is basically like a State highway in the USA.... Nelda)

the living house of the family (right)  The barn to the Red-Farm

I have to make comments here. First this is Barb's family not the Bonsteins.. But...

Notice the wood work on the house?

It is everywhere in Germany. Some of the buildings have pictures

painted on the sides. It is beautiful and very  picturesque.

Thank you GŁnther and Barbara
