Murphy, Joseph Albert: This
persons mother named him Roy, but the courthouse where his birth record was
(Paris, Lamar Co., TX) burned not long after the birth and the birth record
was lost. His father Henry Clinton Murphy liked Joseph Albert Murphy better
so he sorta renamed him, from that time on he was known by Joseph Albert
Murphy. As to how he came about being called Lennie: A black lady who lived
in Paris, TX when talking to Henry, the father, said that child is not a Roy
or a Joseph Albert.. but my very own little linnie Murphy. She refused to
call him anything else and the name stuck. Even his social security was in
the name Linnie Murphy... notes from his son Joseph's email to me dated 24
