THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF MATTHEW QUINTRELL

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Matthew Quintrell of the Parish of Saint Stephens in Branwell in the County of Cornwall Yeoman. I give and bequeath to my daughters Jane Truscott and Elizabeth Carlyon one clear Annuity or Yearly sum of Twenty Shillings each daughter, to be issuing (?) and payable out of my leasehold premises commonly called or known by the Wood Tenement situate lying and being in the said Parish of Saint Stephens in Branwell and to be paid by those persons enjoying the same herein after named by four even and equal quarterly portions from the time of my Death for and during their natural lives if my son John Quintrell shall so long live and I do hereby charge and subject my said leasehold premises called the Wood Tenement with the payment of the said Annuity and do hereby empower my said daughters Jane Truscott and Elizabeth Carlyon or either of them to levey the said Annuity in case of non-payment on demand in such manner as by law is allowed in case of distress for rent. I give and bequeath to my son Mathew Quintrell my said leasehold premises called the Wood Tenement to hold from the time of my death until his son Mathew Quintrell shall attain the age of twentyone years if my son John Quintrell shall so long live subject to the said Annuity hereinbefore given to my daughters Jane Truscott and Elizabeth Carlyon.

I give and bequeath to my grandson Mathew Quintrell the younger when he shall attain the age of twentyone years my said leasehold premises called the Wood Tenement to hold as long as my son John Quintrell shall live subject to the said Annuity hereinbefore given to my daughters Jane Truscott and Elizabeth Carlyon.

I give and bequeath to my son Mathew Quintrell all the residue and remainder of my property and effects of what nature or kindsoever not herein before given and disposed of and do appoint him Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made and witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the Seventeenth day of May in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Three.

[following transcribed by Rita] St Stephens in Brannell 11 October 1833 Will of Matthew Quintrell - yeoman deced proved in common form before John Wallis Junr Clerk M A Surrsgate [?] and admion of all and sing'n the goods [etc?] of the said deced and any way concerning his will was granted to ~ Matthew Quintrell as the son of deced and sole Executor named in the said will - eff? under [?] [died?] March 1828 - No 224 P 160 [?] [?]
