BURKHOLDER, Sarah Morey, died at Massillon Hospital Monday, 72y3m24d, born Ashland 2 Dec 1844, w/o Henry A., married 1 Jan 1863, daughters Mrs. Mary Widgeon and Anna, 2 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, d/o William and Mary Morey, buried Ashland Cemetery.

MANN, Merrill Newton, s/o George and Aseneth, born Sullivan 4 July 1828, one of 11 all have died previously but 1, married 3 Nov 1852 Mary Gould who died 23 Dec 1859, married 31 Dec 1865 Chloe M. Leonard who died 24 Oct 1891, 1 son of this marriage, died 4 Feb, 88y7m, brother George of Massillon, daughters Mrs. Kate Josephine Ricket of Sullivan and Mary Maud of Wellington, son Dr. Clayton Merrill Mann of near Detroit MI, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

FICKES, Mary, died 22 Feb at home, born 1849 Huron Co. nee Backensto, married 1867, w/o John W. who died 8 months ago, daughters Mrs. Ottie Humbert of home and Mrs. Frank Miller of Mansfield, (Shenandoah News), (see previous article).

SHRIVER, Donald, s/o Charles and Verna, born 18 Aug 1908, died 15 Feb, 8y5m27d, buried Adario M.E. Cemetery by mother who died 2 years ago.

SMITH, Susie Hipp, w/o James, born Troy Twp. 11 Sept 1852, died 17 Feb, 64y5m6d, brothers A.G., William and Rebecca Hipp all of Troy Twp., buried Ruggles Cemetery.

SMITH, Mrs. Frances A., nee Riddick, born 12 Nov 1846 Ashland Co., married Orange Sheldon Frary 22 June 1878, moved to Otsego WI, he died 3 years later, son Stowe Kalur Frary, then to Butler IN and Winfield TN, married Newton O. Upton at Winfield TN 12 Jan 1890, to OH living in Wyandotte, Crawford and Seneca Cos., after 2nd husband died, married 14 Nov 1901 William Smith near Attica OH, he died 8 years ago, since in Ashland, died 20 Feb, 70y3m8d, brother Wesley of Winfield TN, sister Mrs. Rose Seydel near Ashland, granddaughter Helen, buried Ashland Cemetery, (see previous article).

SMITH, Sarah M., w/o Peter who died 20 years ago, died at home in Redhaw Tuesday, next Monday 83y, born PA, most of life in Ashland Co., children: Ella of Redhaw, Mrs. Laura Swartz of Burbank, Mrs. Samuel Stauffer and John of Ashland, Charles and Walter of Redhaw, William of McZena, Frank deceased, 30 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, (see previous article).

HOSTETTER, David, 78y, son Roy of Mifflin Twp., died at home in Burkan Thursday, wife, 1 daughter and 2 sons, buried in cemetery near U.P. Church at Mifflin.

POE, Jennie D., of corner of Cottage and 4th St., born Wooster OH 23 Jan 1830, part of life in Warsaw IN and Galion OH, w/o Capt. Andrew, 36 years ago to Ashland, daughter Lettie J., sisters Mrs. John DeShong of Kansas City and Mrs. Dulin deceased, brother J.I. Dorland deceased.

HOLLINGER, Thomas, 68y, of Mohican Twp., died.

SHAFER, Mrs. Edward C., sister Mrs. J.H. Clark of W. Main St., died at home in Toledo, formerly of Cleveland and Burbank, brother Thomas Brinkerhoff of Burbank, 32y, 4 sisters, 5 brothers, buried Burbank Cemetery.

MILLER, Philip, CW Vet Co E 29 Reg IN Inf, daughter Mrs. Larence Swope of Ashland, died Monday at home of Wooster, married 20 Feb 1861 Hannah McConahey in Wayne Co., daughter Mrs. Hannah Barnhart of West Salem, wife died 1892, married Aug 1896 Sarah McConahey sister of 1st wife, 1 brother in OK.

BEYMER, Josephine, w/o Eugene, died at Cleveland hospital Tuesday, 33y7m1d, d/o Mrs. Mary Beymer of 229 Ohio St., buried Ashland Cemetery.

HARDY, Dr. Irene, sister Mrs. R.H. Ridgley, w/o Dr. Neal, died Thursday at Massillon Hospital, 1 daughter survives, buried Nankin Cemetery.

HERSHEY, S. Byron, born 1847, raised on a farm in Marshallville near Akron with 4 brothers and 2 sisters, died 10 Feb at home in Ashtabula, lived Ashland 2 years, buried Chestnut Grove Cemetery 13 Feb.

VAUGHN, William, s/o Arthur formerly of Troy Twp., died MI, 9y, buried Nova Cemetery Friday, uncle Charley Vaughn of Nova.

HOLLINGER, Thomas, died at farm near Jeromesville found died in bed Wednesday A.M., wife died previously, daughter Mrs. Al Austin of Cottage St. and Mrs. L.C. Ebright of Vine St., son Alfred of home, (see previous article).

CHANDLER, John Marion, of Barnes PA died there, 76y, buried Soldier"s Home at Dayton OH, brother Franklin W. and Lafayette of Ashland.

LONG, LeRoy, s/o Alfred, formerly of Ashland, killed by Thomas E. Hayward, 45y.
