KOONTZ, Frederick Frank, died at home at 202 High St. Tuesday, CW Co G 23rd OH Reg, born 14 Aug 1833 Frederick Co. MD, to Ashland 1850, wife is 6 mos younger than he, married 18 Aug 1853 at Jeromesville, s/o Isaac and Catherine she died when F.F. was 1 year old, raised by aunt and grandmother in the south, last of 4, children: Mrs. Mary Clark, Charles, Mrs. A.W. Artz and William, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, buried Ashland Cemetery.

JACKSON, Elvin, s/o H.G. of E. 8th St., died Sunday, 17m old on 25 Dec, brothers John and Paul, buried Ashland Cemetery.

BRUBAKER, Lydia, died at home S of Steam Corners Wednesday, w/o B.F., 78y9m8d, buried Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

SATTLER, Lewis Edward, s/o Ted of Pearl St., funeral Saturday, 11m old on 11 Jan, mother died 2 July 1914, buried Ashland Cemetery.

ROLAND, Mae Boeger, died at in-law's home, Simon Roland of near Jeromesville, w/o Asa, buried Monday.

FORD, Elias, of Orrville CA, died 21 Dec, sister Miss Martha, formerly of Troy Twp.

STAHL, A.D., blacksmith in Nova for 50 years, died 4 Jan, 81y, buried Nova Cemetery.

DeMOSS, Henrietta, died at home in Sullivan 1 Jan, 75y9m, w/o Marcus, no children, brothers Orlando Johnson of Wellington, Garrett of Sullivan and Eugene of Cleveland.

FRAZEE, Mrs. Adam, died at home in Red Haw 22 Dec, 62y9m12d, nee Lettie, married 64 years ago, 3 children: 1 son and 2 daughters.

OVERLY, James Lloyd, died at home on Edgehill Sunday, lived Ashland since Aug 1910, formerly of Crestline, born Galion Aug 1886, married Pearl McCready at Crestline 23 June 1906, s/o James H. of Galion, brothers: Curtis of Mt. Rose CO, Homer of Kansas City MO, Carlton of Springfield MO, Russel of Galion, buried Fairview Cemetery, Galion.

PAULLIN, Benjamin Franklin, died Monday at home of son William R. of 618 W. Sandusky St., born Lakefork 1848, 67y3m9d, wife died 28 years ago 2 grandchildren, buried Mohican Cemetery.

SHULTZ, W.P., CW, died at home on LaBelle Ave. in Dayton Sunday, daughter Mrs. William Vanosdall of Ashland.

DRESSLER, Charles, 54, unmarried, died in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington KY, from Ashland to Ludlow 20 years ago, s/o N.B., brother Edward of Marion.

PHILLIPS, Mary Jane Motter, d/o Fred Motter, born 27 May 1851, died at home in Troy Twp. 12 Jan, 63y7m15d, first 1 of 7 to die, married 29 Aug 1872, w/o John W., children:  W.W., Mrs. Howard Biddinger, Mrs. Alva Troxel, aged mother, husband, 2 brothers and 4 sisters survive, father in CW.

STOUT, William, CW Co K 160th OH National Guard, of Loudonville, died recently, 76y, born near Ashland 18 Sept 1838, wife, 1 sister, 1 daughter and 5 grandchildren, funeral Wednesday.


27 JANUARY 1915


RANSBOTTOM, John, of New London, shot wife and then himself Monday, 1 child who is 1y old.

GREEN, William, CW Co C 102nd OH Reg, died at home 323 Vine St. Friday, 77y6m11d, born 11 July 1837 Jackson Twp., 8 children: William C., Sarah, Jennie, Charles S., Grace W., David S., Hattie and Jessie, children died previously: Celestia and Mabel, sisters Mary Wendell and Anna Earle, buried Ashland Cemetery.

SISSON, Clara, w/o James W. of College Blvd., died Wednesday, children: Chester 9y and Viola 13y, d/o Frank Friend of W. 10th St, 32y, buried Ashland Cemetery.

WALKER, Helen, w/o Thomas of Mansfield, died Tuesday, brother Josh Burns of Ashland, mother, husband, son Thomas Walker Jr., daughters Catherine Gertig of Mansfield and Blanche Gertig of Meadville PA and son Otto Gertig of Pavonia, 3 step-daughters and 3 brothers survive, buried Mansfield Cemetery.

JENNINGS, Mrs. Joseph, died at home on Honey Creek 9 January.

CHAMPNEY, Wilbur, of Kent, died Sunday, CW 104th OVI Co I.

BOFFENMYER, Todd Kent, died Monday after being kicked by horse on farm 3 1/2 miles N of Ashland, only s/o D.R. of Ashland, sister Mrs. Ed M. Palmer of New London, 44y, born 30 June 1870, wife Ella Mougey, buried Ashland Cemetery.

STONE, William, CW Co H 120th Reg, died at home 626 E. Main St. on Friday, 70y7m2d, born Jefferson Co. OH, when young with father William Sr. to farm in Ashland Co., children: Frank F. of Ashland, Edward C. of Mansfield, E.J. and Mrs. Emma Reed of Ashland and Daniel, buried Ashland Cemetery.
