BEELMAN, J.M., formerly of Plymouth, CW 12th OH Battery, died at Chicago this week.

LUTZ, Mrs. Catherine A., widow of John P., mother of Mrs. Laura A. Gongwer of Ashland, died at home 5 miles E of Mansfield Sunday, 88y11m, one of 9 children of John and Barbara Au, all dead except Mrs. Jane Bloor, surviving children: 1 son and 5 daughters.

CLARK, Dr. Philo Henry, (picture) Ashland's oldest citizen, died Tuesday at home on Church and W 4th St., 91y3m25d, funeral Friday, brother: Theodore of Prairie IA and sister Mrs. Hanna Bryant of Buffalo NY, brother Leander died at Toledo IA last Dec, married twice, both wives deceased, no children from either, 2nd wife died 2 years ago, retired abt 12 years ago, born Wakeman Twp. Huron Co OH 3 Aug 1819, 3rd white child born in that area, s/o Dr. H.M. and Laura Downs Clark from South Britain CT to Huron Co OH 1818, father in War of 1812, after mother's death, father to Ashland and lived with him until his death at abt 75y, 1859 to Ashland, CW ass't surgeon to Southern army, 184_ married Sarah J. McDougal of New Haven IN, she died 1 year later, 1847 married Elizabeth Clark of Ashland who born Weymouth in Medina Co OH 22 Apr 1827, she died 2 years ago 7 Nov.

MELLINGER, Mr., died last Tuesday, buried Thursday at Reedsburg, (Lattasburg News).

CULBERTSON, Rosanna, nee Goodman, born 27 Jan 1839 Westmoreland Co PA, died 17 Nov 81y3m21d, married G.W. 12 Oct 1848, to Ashland Co 1856, 4 children: 2 died previously, 2 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild died previously, surviving: husband, children: Mrs. Maggie Powell of Cardington and Mrs. S.D. Umbaugh, sister Mrs. J.R. Remley of Jeromesville who is the last of family of 10, (see previous article).

FORD, George, of Clearcreek Twp., died Tuesday, funeral at Adario Thursday.

KOSHT, Mrs. Jacob, died at N. Cottage St. home Thursday, 82y4m26d, husband died 11 years ago, brother Ebenezer Cunningham of N of Polk, 6 step-children survive, buried Ashland Cemetery.

BOWMAN, Mary, w/o Vachal, died at Orange Road home Tuesday, 67y on 27 Dec, children: Mrs. J.H. Toomey, Frank, Mrs. Maude Sheller and Harley, buried Nankin Cemetery.

SCOTT, Mrs. Julia, of Hanover Twp. for 34 years, died Thursday, 59y4m9d, born Holmes Co., married 22 Jan 1870 William Scott who died 15 Oct 1900, 6 children survive.

STAFFORD, Miss Arvilla, 69y9m12d, died Tuesday at Hayesville, sisters Mrs. Nelson of Hayesville and Mrs. McClanahan of IA, buried Hayesville Cemetery.

PARKINSON, George, father of William of Ashland, died Wadsworth, 78y5m16d, born England, wife, 3 sons and 3 daughters survive.

DAVIS, Mrs. Hannah, of Hiawatha KS, sister Mrs. Rebecca Grubaugh of W 4th St. Ashland, died Monday, 83y, nee: Chandler, formerly of Ashland Co.

HAGERMAN, _____, died at Shreve Wednesday, hit by train, abt 50y, of Loudonville.

BROWN, John F., born 6 Oct 1856 near Savannah, died 6 Dec, 55y2m, married 3 Mar 1885, 5 children, 2 sons and 3 daughters, buried in Nova Cemetery Vault.

STAFFORD, Arvilla, d/o Thomas and Phoebe, born 2 miles S of Hayesville 14 Feb 1842, died at Hayesville home 27 Nov, 2nd in family of 4, and 2nd to die, brother David L. died last 6th March, sisters: Mrs. Amanda McClanahan and Mrs. Ella L. Nelson, (see previous article).

INGRAHAM, Charles E., 55y, only s/o L., died 7 Dec, only son Harry L. at home sick with scarlet fever and 4 children, daughter Marie of Oberlin is sick.

SHIDLER, George H., s/o Peter and Catherine Horn Shidler, born Washington Co PA 9 Oct 1823, one of 10, 1 brother and 2 sisters survive, aged wife survives, to Ashland Co. 1843, Orange Twp; lived there 60 years, 2 years ago to Ashland with nephew G.A. Cassel, married 27 July 1859 Catherine Shopbell, no children, raised G.A. Cassel since 3 years old, buried Ashland Cemetery.

HALE, Augustus R., died at Sawyer Sanitarium in Marion Monday, born Ashland Co near Pavonia 52 years ago, son Chauncey G. Hale of Los Angeles, brother John Hale of Akron.

ARNDT, Mrs. Jacob, died Thursday at home of daughter Mrs. Elmer Broach of Claremont Ave., 73y, buried Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

ZEHNER, Nellie, w/o John A. of Jefferson St., suicide Saturday, 21y5m6d, sister Mrs. Judson Luck of Los Angeles CA, son Richard 2y, d/o Martin Shakley of S of West Salem, born 23 July 1891, siblings, Mrs. Luck, Mrs. Edward Weltamer of S of West Salem, Mrs. William Tanner and Mrs. Arthur McDermitt of SW of Burbank, William and Arthur Shakley of N of West Salem, Howard Shakley of W of West Salem and Lawrence of N of Polk, buried Ashland Cemetery.
