HETTINGER, Sophia, d/o Henry and Sarah Overs, born Hummelstown Dauphin Co PA 1 Nov 1831, died 2 Jan, 79y2m20d, one of 14 all dead except sister Mrs. G.W. Kidwell of Bucyrus, married G.W. Hettinger 25 May 1851 in Ashland Co OH, 10 children, 7 survive: 5 sons and 2 daughters, 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, buried Ashland Cemetery. FINKBINER, Harold Smalley, 2y, s/o Freeman Finkbiner died last Wednesday, buried Rowsburg Cemetery Friday. CAMP, George, of Redhaw, died 25 Jan, 48y. VANTILBURG, William, died at home of grandson Grover Martin of 2 1/2 miles NW of Shenandoah 20 Jan, 92y11d, one of 4 brothers and 8 sisters, 2 sisters and 1 brother survive, to Ashland Co 1816, married 1841 Harriet Starrett, children Samantha w/o William Martin who died 1887, wife died previously. HARDIN, Charles, of Urbana, died Wednesday at home of brother-in-law Frank White of Cottage St., buried Ashland Cemetery. STRAWBRIDGE, Caroline A., died at 3rd St. home Thursday, 62y, husband in CW, he died previously, buried Ashland Cemetery, brother H. E. Wood of W. Main St. CAMP, George, died 1 mile N of Redhaw Wednesday, 48y, buried Redhaw Cemetery, (see previous article). ATEN, Albert, died Saturday at home of brother Harry abt 2 1/2 miles S of Ashland, buried Ashland Cemetery. BITTINGER, Major John Lawrence, (from St. Joseph MO Gazette), born near Chambersburg PA 28 Nov 1833, with parents to Rowsburg OH, father died when J.L. was 13y, later to Green Co WI with a farmer he lived with after death of father, died at St. Joseph home, wife's sister Mrs. T.J. Chew, 3 sisters lived in St. Joseph area, (see previous article). LOH, George, brother Charles of W. Main St., died Youngstown Tuesday, to Youngstown abt 15 years ago, wife and child, buried in Youngstown. PORTER, Giles, formerly of Ashland, died at home of daughter Mrs. C.W. Welty of Twin Falls ID Sunday, daughters Mrs. Welty, Ella of Ashland and Mrs. E.G. Welsh of Nankin, to west abt 30 years ago, funeral Marion OH. COREMAN, John, CW Vet, died Wednesday at home of son-in-law Elmer Gault of 5 miles E of Ashland, abt 75y, wife 2 daughters, Mrs. Gault and Mrs. David Weidler of Ashland, ELSEWHERE: abt 73y of Rowsburg area, wife and daughters survive, funeral at White Church, died Wednesday. LONG, Adeline S., nee Deibfick, born Mifflinburg PA 7 Mar 1842, died Toledo OH home 1 Feb, 68y10m24d, to OH with parents when a child and settled Ashland Co. 5 miles E of Ashland, married 25 Mar 1867 John M. Long of Piqua OH, no children, one sister in CA. DROWN, Nelson J., died Monday at Mansfield, brother Alex of Loudonville, 20y, mother Mrs. S.M. Drown of Sullivan, buried Sullivan Cemetery, hit by train Saturday.
