RAMSEY, Jonathan, only colored resident of Kent, died Sunday at Soldiers' Home in Sandusky, 81y, early years in slavery, purchased a few years before war by a PA man and allowed to work out his purchase price, CW PA Reg.

MARKEL, Miss Eliza, died at Orange St. home Tuesday, 66y next Feb 17, siblings George A., Samuel, Mrs. T. N. McKean of Ashland, Miss Della Bushnell of Barberton, Rachael McCoy of Sabetha KS, and Jacob Markel of Nankin.

MASON, Mrs. William, of E. Washington St., siblings J.W. Sherick of Marion, J.L. of Cleveland, buried Nankin Cemetery Friday.

DICK, Alexander, died at home of daughter Mrs. William Myers of Clearcreek Twp. Sunday, born 29 May 1837 Ruggles Twp., to Clearcreek Twp. in 1848, wife and daughter survive, buried Ashland Cemetery, brother Hezekiah of Clearcreek Twp. and Amanda Dick of Aario, 2 grandchildren (children of Mildred Dick.)

WILSON, John, died at 34 Bank St. home Saturday, 85y5m16d, born Irwin, Westmoreland Co. PA on 24 May 1822, children Emmet of Ashland, Mrs. George W. Cliffe of Upper Sandusky, Crosby of CA and Mrs. Hand of OK, buried Jeromesville Cemetery.

WESTAVER, Ezra, uncle of E.A. Kauffman of Ashland, formerly of Polk, died Monday in Canton.

CASTLE, Honorable D.O., ex-mayor of Galion, died Monday.

SQUIRES, Frederick, of Rochester Twp., Lorain Co., died last Friday, abt 40y, wife survives, sister Mrs. C.C. Bowerizer and Mrs. William Dill of Nova area.

VANSCOY, Fern, s/o Eugene of NW Adario, drowned at Boston, in Navy.

DOW, Charles A., born 7 Dec 1825 Franklin, New London CT, died at home near Hayesville 30 Oct, married Kezia Prince at Appleton WI 7 Mar 1899, children Charles Elmer died 18 Sept 1861 at 1y2m6d, Edward Foster of near Canton, Willie Adelbert died 1 June 1873 at 4y1m9d, Halsey Emmitt of Akron.

KENDIG, Attorney Harry J., born 1 Sept 1866 Hayesville OH, died 28 Oct Chicago, 41y1m20d, s/o Dr. E.V., brother of Dr. R.C. of Akron and Dr. Williard of Cincinnati, fell 50', buried Kauffman Cemetery near Mifflin.

SHELLEY, Peter, CW 16th OVI, s/o Michal, buried Maple Grove Church Cemetery Sunday, of Ashland Co. since 1870, wife and son survive, (elsewhere) died at home Thursday 3 1/2 miles E of Ashland on Cleveland Road.

WAY, Jesse, s/o Samuel, died from kick of horse in Salem OR, to be buried there.

ELY, Arlington B., "Arley", died Friday at the Arlington on W. Main St., 30y5m, s/o Frank, brother of Paul of Ashland and Clarence of Mansfield, grandson of Mrs. Kate Bosworth of 41 W. Washington St., buried Ashland Cemetery.

HINER, Eli, 63y, CW, died Thursday at 25 Cleveland Ave. home, buried Ashland Cemetery, wife and children G.M. and C.W. of 2 miles E of Ashland and Mrs. J.V. Likes of 5 miles E of Ashland, siblings George and Luther of Loudonville, John of MI, Mrs. Joseph Hull of Newark, Mrs. Calvin Staats of Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Della Melton of Danville &Mrs. David Myers of Medicine Lodge KS.

WHITE, Mrs. James, died at Farmer City IL home Thursday, nee Elizabeth Weedman born Perry Co. OH 10 Apr 1821, 2nd of six, siblings surviving John Weedman of Ashland, Herbert and Charles and Romelia Cryer of Farmer City, Mrs. Tempa Gulest of Cherryville KS, A.J. White of Decatur and George of the West, 17 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, married 18 Oct 1845 in Ashland OH to James White, to IL in 1854, buried Maple Grove Cemetery.

WILER, John, of Loudonville, found dead under PA RR bridge Wednesday, sister Mrs. Henry Steiner of Loudonville.

REPP, Mrs. Eliza, of Jackson Twp., died Wednesday, husband, 4 children and several sisters survive, funeral Thursday at West Salem Methodist Church.

BINEHAUER, A.F., of Galion, 52y7m5d, born Ashland Co. 5 Apr 1856, when 18y to Galion, married Mar 1876 Adeline Aprankler, children William of Kansas City KS, Claude and George of Galion, a daughter Nora died this past year, buried Thursday.

McCOMB, A.C., abt 58y, died Tuesday at Pittsburg PA, cousins A.J. Sloan, Hayes Sloan and Mrs. Ida Wicks of Ashland, bur Clarion PA.
