FRANTZ, Samuel, wife died 10 yrs ago, died Thursday at home of daughter Mrs. John McQuate of Vine St. where he'd lived for 12y 90y8m2d, born Lancaster Co. PA 6 Dec 1816, to 5 miles E of Ashland in 1854, 8 children 5 died previous, 2 in infancy and Mrs. Phiana Baum, George and Vina, surviving above daughter, Mrs. Robert Ludwig, and John all of area, 29 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, buried Dickey Church Cemetery.

KOEHL, Mrs. Katherine Wenz, died 7 Aug at Claremont Ave. home, 72y1m13d, born Delkerchen, River Krus, Beiren 24 June 1835, to US with parents in 1850 and lived Columbus OH 13 yrs, 1855 married Valentine Koehl a native of same country and were school companions there, to Ashland in 1863, husband died 8 yrs ago, children, John, Valentine, Louis all born Columbus, Nellie, George, and Katherine born Ashland, last 2 mentioned died previous, 5 grandchildren, brother Carl and John Wenz older than her died previous.

ENCK, Julia, died at home of son Richard of Vine St., died Thursday, 75y, w/o Joseph, born New Holland, Lancaster Co. PA 2 Oct 1832, to Ohio, 1st in New Berlin, later Ashland, lived Ashland 23y, twice married, 11 children of whom 8 survive Daniel Roewinsky and Mrs. Mary Lead of New Berlin OH, John Roewinsky of Oakley TX, Mrs. Elta Hartman of Cleveland, Mrs. J.V. McHose, Herbert, Richard and Charles Enck, 3 children died previous, sister Mrs. Margaret Shick, buried Ashland Cemetery.

McMurray, William Frances, 3y3m22d, s/o William of Maple St., died Saturday.

FARVER, John, of 3 miles E of Ashland, died 5 Aug, born near New Washington in Crawford Co. OH 29 Aug 1841, oldest child of Samuel and Susanna who had 4 sons and 1 daughter, father died when 10 yrs old, CW 64th Reg CoF, married 7 Sept 1867 Jennie Dove, children Mrs. Mary Shire, Mrs. Media Stahl, and William all of Ashland Co.

MARKEL, Mrs. Aaron, funeral at M. E. Church in Nankin Monday.

STEVENSON, Levi, died Thursday 8 Aug, had been run over by farm wagon Tuesday, 61y4m5d, born 3 Apr 1848, 1st wife Sadie Hunter died and left 3 daughters oldest Mrs. Lewis Ferrel of Nova, 2nd Ethel died a few yrs after mother, and youngest Maggie w/o Clyde Claberg, 1880 married Mrs. Clara Douglas, 2 children Bessie w/o James Vantilburg of Seattle WA and Earl of Mansfield, siblings Mrs. Almina Dick of Ashland Co., Mrs. Emma Lattimer of Mercer Co. and Mrs. Hattie Martin of Shiloh, (under Adario News) (see previous article).

SECHRIST, Mrs. George, died at home E of Shenandoah, funeral Saturday at Shenandoah (see previous article).

STEVENSON, Levi, born Butler Twp., Richland Co., 1st wife died in 1875, Ethel (daughter) died in 1880, married 2nd 21 Nov 1880, (See previous articles).

KOEHL, John, died at 33 Center St. home 17 Aug, 50y5m13d, born Columbus OH 4 Mar 1857, with parents to Ashland in 1863, oldest of 3 brothers, Valentine, Louis and George, sister Millie and Katherine, 5/0 Valentine who died 8 yrs ago, John's mother died 7 Aug 1907.

CHARLES, Capt. M., of Mansfield, died Sunday, born 8 Apr 1861, funeral Tuesday.

HOCKENSMITH, Harvey, died 13 Aug at home of Son Alonzo of 3 1/2 miles S of Ashland, 66y1m16d, born Fulton Co. PA 27 June 1841, married Ascnath Bailey 21 Apr 1861 who died abt 2 yrs ago, to OH Aug 61, 8 children of whom 5 survive John of Savannah, Mrs. Agnes Snowberger of Orange, Earl of Nova and William and Alonzo of Ashland, 7 grandchildren, buried Dickey Church cemetery, (see previous article).

KNITTLE, Mary F., w/o Joseph, died at Mansfield Monday, 53y, husband and children survive, Mrs. William Fisher, Irma, Hazel and William, Catholic, lived Mansfield 25y.

GATCHEL, Elizabeth Beck, born Province of New Brunswick in Canada 29 Nov 1820, died 14 Aug 86y8m15d, youngest of 8 all died previous, to OH 1830, married Rev. Elias Gatchel 5 Dec 1870, buried Nova Cemetery beside her brother George Beck.

RICHARD, Miss Fanny, died 17 Aug, buried Dickey Church Cemetery.

WILLIAMS, Dorothy, only d/o Mrs. Blanch Rice Williams of Chicago, drowned, word received by Mrs. F. Rice of Sullivan area Monday.

COFFIN, Major Eugene, (picture) died 23 July in Philippines, buried Arlington Cemetery in Washington DC, born OH 14 Aug 1847, CW Co G 23rd OV, (see previous article).

REED, Winfield Scott, funeral Sunday at Lodi, born Burbank 6 Oct 1852, died 54y10m10d, youngest of 11 and 5th to die, 2 brothers and 4 sisters survive, 29 Oct 1879 married Mary E. Shaw in Galion.
