McQUATE, Mrs. Conrad, died at home of son William of N of Red Haw, son Henry of Rowsburg received word Tuesday. CLARK, Mrs. Emma Meckes, w/o Capt. Charles of #4 4th St., died Wednesday, 30y7m11d, born 6 Dec 1876 in Ashland, d/o Max Meckes, survived by parents, husband, daughter Donna H. and son Robert M., sisters Mrs. Arthur Hill of Akron and Jessie of Ashland, brother Paul of Cleveland, buried Ashland Cemetery. CLARK, Mrs. Jacob, Maggie J., died at W. Main St. home Monday, born Kemptville, Ontario Canada 22 May 47 yrs ago, children Mrs. Ora McQuillen of E of Ashland, Miss Minnie Brown and Miss Martha Clark, siblings James Caldwell of Los Angeles CA, Simon Caldwell of near Ashland, Mrs. James Starrett and Mrs. George W. St. home Tuesday, 67y, born 30 Mar 1840, to Ashland Co. from Stark Co., buried Ashland Cemetery, wife and sons Frank and John and daughter Mrs. Alice Moores of Ashland survive, oldest child a son died in infancy. WITTEMYER, child, 2 1/2y, d/o S. of near Mifflin, died, shot accidentally by 4 yr old brother or by uncle Edward Reyher. JARVIS, James S., CW Co C 120th OVI, died at Hayesville home Sunday, abt 70y, born at Hayesville and always lived within a mile of birthplace, wife and daughter Mrs. F.E. Rohleder of Hayesville and sons Att T.B. of Mansfield and Luther of near Hayesville. SMITH, Edward F., "Jerry", died at Shelby home Thursday, wife and 7 children, born Ashland Co., at age 15 enlisted in 7th OH Inf and later the 42nd and later the 2nd Ohio Calvary, after CW to West Salem, 1867 to Elyria, 1874 to Shelby, 1880 to Galion, 1882 to Elyria, 1885 to Shelby, 1888 to Elyria, 1903 to Shelby, a band leader and music teacher. DENT, Samuel L. of Upper Sandusky, died after shooting himself Tuesday, born Ashland Co., 58y, brother David of Plymouth, wife and he divorced, live Richland Co., 3 daughters and 3 sons. SHIFFLER, Barbara, w/o Henry Sr., died Friday at home of Henry Jr. on Bank St., abt 72y, born 2 1/2 miles W of Ashland, lived Ashland abt 49 yrs, husband and son survive, John of IL, Henry of Ashland, a daughter Sarah died previous, 6 brothers and 1 sister survive, 1 brother and 1 sister died previous. 24 JULY 1907 PITTINGER, Mary, w/o Luther, died at home in SW part of county on Olivesburg Rd., 69y, children Mrs. Lucretia Farree, Jasper and Clyde, funeral this Friday at Franklin Church.
