SAAL, Jacob, died at home just N of Ashland on the Orage Rd. on Saturday, 68y6m13d, born Frau Nausses Hessen Darmstaadt Germany 16 June 1838, 1855 to US, on ocean 36 days, brothers Peter and John were already in US in Wayne Co., to Ashland Co 1866, daughters Mrs. Charles W. McCool of West Main St. and Mrs. Emma Myers of Ft. Wayne IN, wife died abt 6 mo ago and a daughter died previous, visited Germany in 1896, buried Ashland Cemetery.

STAHLEHEBER, Mrs. John, died at Mansfield home, buried 25 Dec, husband formerly of Ashland.

CASSELL, Mrs. E. T., died at home 3 miles N of Ashland on Monday, buried Nankin Cemetery.

WAY, Mrs. Rachel O., of Broad St., nee Allerton, w/o John W., died 28 Dec, daughter Marquerite, twins Clarence and Wilber aged 14, and son Frederick aged 4, sisters Eva of Rochester NY, Mrs. H. Buttolph of Chicago, brother S. E. of LaCrosse WI.

MILLER, Susan, widow of Michael, died Saturday at Will W. Moore's home on E 3rd St, 83y, 4 children of whom Snyder Miller of Ashland survives, sister Mrs. Jacob Brubaker of Ashland brother Henry Humrichauser of Plymouth IN.

McQUILLEN, Wesley, CW vet, died at home 6 miles NW of Ashland on Cleveland Rd on Saturday, 64y, wife and son, brother Samuel of Hayesville, buried White Church Cemetery.

MENG, Mrs. Margaret, died Thursday at home of sister Mrs. John Eichelberger on Pleasant Ridge, born 8 yrs ago Centre Co. PA, with parent to Ashland Co. when 10 yrs old, settled on old Myers farm 6 miles E of Ashland now owned by F. E. Myers, husband died previous, siblings, Mrs. Elias Morr, Mrs. John Eichelberger and George of Ashland and Daniel of Rowsburg.

NAIL, Mrs. Jane, widow of Sanuel, died Wednesday at home on Olivesburg Rd, 3 daughter and 2 sons, 85y.

HIFFNER, David N., CW, died 13 W. Walnut St. on Saturday, son-in-law Rev. M. E. Davis of NV, 74y next June, wife survives, adopted daughter Mrs. Davis, brothers Jacob of Ithaca MI, Levi and John both deceased, a sister also died previous.

WHEELER, Julius, 27y, of Mt. Eaton, found dead in a cave, left home 24 Dec and never returned, foul play indicated.

BOFFENMYER, Bessie, died at mother's home in Cleveland, Mrs. Alwilda Boffenmyer on Sunday. aunt and uncle of Ashland, Mart and Mrs. D. R. Boffenmyer, father Peter died 7 yrs ago last Aug, brother and sister died previous, abt 25 yrs ago born 1 mile N of Ashland, to Cleveland 1893, buried in Ashland Cemetery.

HOOVER, David, died Monday at home near Paradise Hill, s/o Daniel, 29y, wife, 3 sisters and 1 brother survive, buried Chestnut Grove Cemetery.

CASSEL, Mrs. E. T., Emma, died 31 Dec, only d/o G. W. Burd, brother D.C., husband and 3 daughters Della, Mildred and Pearl, 3 sons Harry, George and Lee, the oldest 13 yrs and the youngest 3 yrs.

HOSLER, Mrs. Margaret Shearer, died at home of Frederick Shearer of 18 E Liberty St. on Friday, born Fayette Co PA 6 Oct 1825, died at age 81y2m29d, to OH 1838, married John Hosler, next to the eldest daughter of 13 children, all deceased except Phillip, Frederick, David and John, husband died 1884 and since then lived with brother Frederick, buried Ashland Cemetery, (next page) son Francis L. survives.

CARTER, Sylvester, brother of Senator Elza of Upper Sandusky, died at his Polk home on Tuesday, 69y, born McCtenville, lived in Ashland Co. abt 30yrs, a son in VA, brother Marshall of McCutenville, Rev. R. E. of N. Lewisburg and above, buried McCutenville Cemetery.

LAWBAUGH, Libbie, born 1 Aug 1863, nee Beymer, married William 29 Jan 1890, 5 children, died 25 Dec, 43y4m24d.

SAPP, Mrs., of Depler farm SW of Rowsburg, died Friday, husband and 3 yr old daughter Lucile survive, funeral at former home in Brink Haven.

FRANCE, John William, of S of New Pittsburg, Wayne Co., grandsons John and Zenith Wile received word Thursday he had died, born in Wayne Co 4 July 1886, lived there all of life, died at age 81y6m6d, wife died 3 yrs ago, only daughter died previous, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

SHELLER, Jennie, died 30 Dec, abt 24y, survived by mother, 3 sisters and 1/2 brother C.O. Sheller of Mansfield, buried in Olivesburg.

CONN, Mrs. Phebe, died last Thursday, abt 81y, 5 children and 14 grandchildren survive, grandsons Chester and Emery Conn of Mifflin, Bryan and Charles Conn of Mansfield, Amos Conn of Toledo and Roy Aressel of Mansfield, buried in Mifflin Cemetery.

FREESE, Henry J. CW Vet, of Mansfield, died there Monday.
