DETROW, Reuben, born 9 Dec 1827 Mahoning Co., died 22 June, 78y6m3d, married 20 Jan 1859 Hannah Sponsler, 2 sons and 1 daughter of whom a son died abt 2 yrs ago, buried Nova Cemetery. 11 JULY 1906 HINKLE, Thelma Alelia, d/o William, died Wednesday, 3y4m19d, born 13 Feb 1903, lived on Cleveland Ave., buried Ashland Cemetery. MAYO, Theodore, funeral in Lima on Tuesday, uncle of W. V. Beach of Ashland, 80y, 2 children survive, coal & lumber dealer. KATES, Henry, 65y, of Galion, found in a fence corner on a farm 3 miles east of Shelby, had been dead for some time. MYERS, Benjamin, died 4 July in West Salem, buried Friday, s/o Mrs. Elizabeth Rust Stillwagon who died 26 June. FUNK, Alice, jumped from bridge 1 mile from Akron on Wednesday and died, 22y, had left Wooster Apr 1905, brother in Massillon St. Hospital, father in Wayne Co. Infirmary, mother had died previous. HICKOK, Eva, w/o Guy D. of Tiptonville TN, formerly of Ashland, died Monday, nee Eva Jordon d/o Mrs. S. N. of E. Washington St., 29y, married 8 yrs ago, sister Mrs. Harry Clark of Ashland. KOONTZ, Ruth, only d/o George and Nellie, died Thursday, would have been 14y on 10 July, of Sullivan area. 18 JULY 1906 EWING, George Miller, born Allegheny Co. PA 13 Oct 1837, died 11 July after being hit on head by falling hay fork, 68y8m28d, 2nd s/o Samuel and Emily Miller Ewing, had come to Ashland Co. with parents in Fall of 1839 settling near Hayesville, 13 Feb 1872 married Martha J. Reed who died 1893, 4 daughters and 2 sons of whom 2 daughters and 1 son had died previous, surviving are Mrs. Nellie Mead, Mrs. Etha Mead, and Reed of New London, had moved Spring of 1875 to Butler Twp., Richland Co. 6 miles NW of Savannah, buried Ninevah Cemetery. FORD, Laben, died Sunday at home in Ruggles Twp. 2 miles W of Nova, born Ashland Co. 78 yrs ago, wife and children Mrs. Edward Donley of Orange Twp., Mrs. Alvin Crittenden of Ruggles Twp., and Scott P. of Galesburg IL, buried New London Cemetery. LINN, Mrs. H. L., nee Nelson, of Walnut St., died Wednesday in Columbus, abt 40y, buried in Ashland Cemetery, survived by husband, sister of Robert, Mrs. A. H. Williams, Charles, Mrs. Nixon, Mrs. Stuckey and Mrs. Glenn. MARTIN, Benjamin, 69y, died Sunday at home near Shenandoah. HESS, Jacob, of Wayne Co., died Friday at home in Reedsburg, born Smithville 87y ago, f/o Mrs. Fred Routh of Reedsburg, buried in Reedsburg Cemetery. CAMPBELL, Doran, born Troy Twp., s/o John of Nova, died 12 July at Pittsburg PA, 28y6m3d, brother of William and Charles, buried in Nova Cemetery. 25 JULY 1906 ESHELMAN, Ephraim B., buried in vault at Wooster Cemetery pending removal for burial in PA, even though past 80 yrs, face appears to be that of a man of 30 yrs, (see previous article). McFADDEN, Mrs. Caroline, died 22 July at home near Nankin station on Sunday, 85y11m, born Dauphin Co. PA, near Harrisburg, married 19 Apr 1845 to Edward McFadden, 8 children of whom 3 died earlier, husband died 30 May 1880, sister of Miss Rachel Gerkey of Orange, buried in cemetery near the Savannah lake 2 miles E of village. GILLETT, Mrs., died Sunday, 83y, of Oberlin, survived by husband, she was aunt of Jason Brandt and John Tinkey. 1 AUGUST 1906 FRESH, Matilda, relict of George, died in Lodi on Tuesday, 69y.
