EYSTER, Peter, funeral in Ashland, f/o Mrs. Cloyd Steadman of Akron, (elsewhere in paper) CW vet, died Saturday at home on 4th St., born East Greenville, Stark Co. OH 8 Aug 1836, 68y10m2d, tanner by trade, married July 1860 Catherine Duck, father of Elmer, William, Frank, Mayme, Charles and Millie who are living, 2 died previously: one in infancy and one married daughter, 3 sisters survive and 2 brothers are deceased.

McCOMBS, Mrs. Sarah A., formerly of Ashland, died Wednesday near Shiloh at home of daughter, Mrs. John Miller, 89y, to Ashland 1840, to Shiloh area 15 yrs ago, buried Ashland Cemetery.


21 JUNE 1905


BENDER, Mrs. Seville, widow of Deville who died 1887, she died 11 June at W. H. Carter'S home on Center St., born Lebanon PA 20 Aug 1827, to Ashland when 25y old, mother of Caroline, grandchildren: Fred, Louise and Dorothy Carter, buried Ashland Cemetery.

MERLING, Mrs. Charles, died at home of Samuel Jones on W. Main St. 19 June, born Wurtenburg Germany 23 Apr 1825, arrived in NY in 1852 with a friend, stayed there for a short time and then went to Polk OH, married Charles Merling who is now deceased, she has lived with her children since his death: Mrs. George Leonhart during the winter and Mrs. Samuel Jones during the summer, also, Mrs. Wesley Burke, Charles, and Louie, 1 daughter who died previously.

WARNER, Mrs. Lorina, died 16 June on old Warner homestead at Pleasant Home, born 8 Nov 1810, lived at Pleasant Home 67 yrs, 10 children of which 8 survive.

SEFTON, Harry, of Mt. Vernon, shot himself in grove on Gooddale St., West of Olentangy Bridge, born Mt. Vernon, s/o W. E., 2 sisters.

MEACH, John, last of 3 brothers, of Rochester, Lorain Co. OH, died 15 June.

GRINDLE, Mrs. John, buried Ashland Cemetery, funeral Saturday at Methodist Episcopal Church.

SHEETS, Mrs. Leonard, died Friday in Toledo OH where she had lived past few years, formerly of Mansfield, abt 60 or 70y, husband died previously, mother of Mrs. Edward King of Toledo, Milton of Toledo and Dr. Sheets of Ashland, sister of Mrs. C. S. Ritz of W. 4th St., Ashland.

EMICK, Adam, died Sunday at home abt 5 miles East of Ashland, 85y, survived by wife, also son John of MO.


28 JUNE 1905


EMICK, Adam, born Plainfield Twp., Northampton Co. PA 30 Aug 1820, died 18 Jun, 84y9m18d, married Mary Ann Fraunfelter 18 Mar 1844, 5 children (2 daughters, 3 sons) of which 4 died previously, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. (see previous article).

KEENER, Ethel Marie, d/o Roy of Claremont Ave., died Tuesday, buried Ashland Cemetery.

SMITH, Mrs. William, died at her home last Saturday. (Savannah news).

RUDESILL, John, died at his home in Hutchinson KS, formerly of Ashland.

THOMAS, Mrs. Peter, died at her home on Cleveland Ave. Sunday, 83y, nee Elizabeth McCammon, born Center Co. PA 2 May 1822, came to Montgomery Twp., Ashland Co. when 3 months old with parents, married 1st Adam Riddle, married 2nd Peter THOMAS who died 1876, mother of I. W. Thomas, Mrs. Joseph Welch and Harriet, step-mother of Mrs. A. L. Sherick, Peter Thomas and Lizzie Thomas of Ashland, William of Ashland Co. and Sanford of KS, buried Ashland Cemetery.

PARK, E. D., born Preston, Chenango Co. NY 16 May 1812, died at home of son, John Melvin near Lamour MI 23 June, 93y1m7d, in 1832 he married Hannah Crum of Preston NY, in 1838 he, wife and 3 children came to Sullivan OH, in 1854 1st wife died and he went back to NY married Emma Bronson who died 1882, he and 4 sons in CW, one son died in Knoxville TN, father of 10 children (6 sons and 4 daughters) of which 4 sons and 3 daughters survive, 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, buried Maplewood Cemetery, Lamont MI.

MUNSHALL, Cornelius M., formerly of Ashland, abt 50y, crushed in PA RR wreck at Atwater near Cleveland, funeral Saturday, wife's father died 12 yrs ago, wife's mother: Mrs. L.M. Jones aged 82y, rest of wife's relatives are in Europe. (elsewhere same paper) "Neil" lived 525 Case Ave., Cleveland, abt 56y, formerly of Pleasant St., Ashland OH, brother of Leander W., Herman of Cleveland, Addie widow of George W. Short of Cleveland & Agnes who died previously, nephew of A. W. Melsheimer, Neil's wife a niece of Senator Jones of NV and late Judge J. M. Jones of Cleveland.

SCHMITT, Mrs. Eva, abt 60y, found dead in front of her home in Mansfield Saturday.


12 JULY 1905


KIRKPATRICK, Fern, died, 3y old, d/o W. J. of SE part of county, hay ladders fell on her.

REYNOLDS, Alice, of Plymouth, died Monday at home of Silas Seymour on Wooster Rd. East of town, 24y, husband died 1 yr ago last April.

SMITH, Mrs. Robert, died Thursday at home North of Jeromesville, sister of Dr. Robert McCready and Dr. Thomas McCready of Pittsburg, 2 sons and 1 daughter.
