DEININGER, Edward, died 3 miles South of Polk Thursday, 64y, survived by father, brother, wife, son John and daughters: Mary and Anna, 2 sisters live Westmoreland PA on homestead, buried cemetery nearby Brick Church.

STURGES, Edward, killed by train yesterday at Galion.

STAUFFER, Miss Margaret, of Massillon Hospital for 20 yrs, died recently, 80y, funeral at Mohican.

McNABB, Charity, died Pleasant St. Saturday, born Hampshire Co. WV 6 Nov 1825, came at an early age to Ashland, married 1847 Robert McNabb, 9 children: Mrs. Ella Jones of Findlay, Mrs. Charles Dorland of Peoria IL, Mrs. A. L. Bapp, and Howard of Springfield IL, Will, Charley and Bush of Ashland, 2 deceased.

ZOOK, Rev. Jonathon, died Oberlin on 61st birthday 17 Sept, buried near childhood home at Smithville OH, wife nee Smyzer, daughter Katharyn.

SPRENG, John Jacob, born Wayne Co. 10 June 1848, died 10 Oct, 56y4m, married 24 Dec 1868 Harriet Sechrist, 9 children of which 2 died previously, his mother died 29 July. (see previous article)

IMGARD, August, 78y, funeral Monday at Wooster, died Friday, 1848 to Wooster from Wetzlar Germany, wife and 4 children.

PAULLIN, Peter E., born Ashland Co., lived Richland Co. most all of life, died in Mansfield recently, 79y, buried Newville, son-in-law Rev. G. W. Houk of Shiloh.

HERGER, Mr., of Paulding, husband of Lucrettia, died Napoleon OH Monday, her sisters: Mrs. Franklin Gardner and Mrs. Etta Kline, funeral at Millersburg.

KAUFFMAN, Jacob J., died Friday, born Canton OH 20 June 1839, 1859 to Hancock Co. OH, CW 95th OVI, 1865 to Ashland OH, 1865 married Annie E. Willis, sons: Harry and Edward, daughter: Mrs. Elizabeth C. Edwards, buried Ashland Cemetery.

ROSE, Al, "desperado" killed at St. Louis last week, had worked for H. D. Vantilburg on farm 2 miles North of Ashland.

HOLZGRIFE, Captain, buried Ashland Cemetery Monday in Mrs. Joseph Soles' lot, Salvation Army.

LEMON, John, died near Lucas OH Thursday, abt 48y, brothers: James and John of Ashland and W. W. of Mansfield, born Hayesville, wife and 2 children: Edward and Mrs. Dora Culler of Galion.

DEVORE, John, 84y, of Danville, died, mother is 109y.

DORLAND, Mrs. Ida McNabb, died Peoria IL last Sunday, one of 9 children, her mother died in Ashland Co. abt one week ago namely Mrs. Charity Rollins McNabb.

BEAIRD, Col. John D., died Saturday at Hayesville.

KENNEDY, Mrs. Samuel, of Hayesville area, drowned herself in Brandt pond, husband and 2 sons: Montford of home and R. D. of Mohican, survive.

FIRESTONE, Mrs. Joannah, w/o John, hung herself, of 1/2 mile North of New Pittsburg, abt 46y, 3 children: 2 sons and 1 daughter, the oldest 22y, husband is cousin of Simon Rice of Cleveland Ave. and D. R. Boffenmyer of Cottage St.

PANKHURST, Charles, of Mansfield, hit and killed by train Monday.

BEAIRD, John D., died Friday in Hayesville, born 1838 PA, 66y, lived Ashland Co. more than 50 yrs, 1885 married Sarah F. McNabb, CW IL Reg.

WOODS, Mary J., w/o William, died Ironville near Toledo, buried Ashland Cemetery, 45y, born Ashland d/o the late Timothy Flaherty, attending the funeral were Vincent B. and Floyd Woods of Norwalk, M. T. Flaherty of Milford Ceneter, William Woods of Toledo, John S. and James F. Flaherty of Niles, and Michael Flaherty of Hanover KS.

WILLISTON, Bertha, died Tuesday, suicide, 4 sisters in Canton and Wooster.

BENSINGER, Moses, died recently in Chicago IL, brother of Mrs. Nathan Strauss.

AMBROSE, Jacob, died 25 Oct, 84y9m15d, born 10 Jan 1820, married 1843 Sophia Shisler, children: 3 sons and 1 daughter deceased; surviving: B. F. of Ashland, W. H. of Mansfield, Mrs. J. D. McEntire of Rows, Mrs. C. E. Kiplinger of Redhaw, Mrs. George Short of Rolfe IA, Mrs. George Shopbell of Nankin, Mrs. Keith of Cleveland and Sarah of Ashland.

ABEL, Mrs. Susan, w/o William, died Nankin 28 Oct, 71y, husband survives, no children, buried Maple Grove Cemetery, father killed a few months before her birth, mother Mrs. Susan Umbaugh died 1873, spent whole life in Orange Twp., except last 3 yrs, brother: David Umbaugh.
