Mary Alice HEYES and
three of her brothers and older sister, taken in the street in front of their house in Halliwell, probably Acton Street by J. Winstanley BOLTON's OUTDOOR PHOTOGRAPHER, 23 Hampden Street.The photos would have been taken in 1914-15 when Mary Alice was about 2 yrs old.
 

Jackson HEYES elder brother of Alice Heyes (pictured left) aged c.17.
On the back he has written "for my dear father Your Ever loving Son Jackson Heyes", and was sent by him to his father who was serving in France during WW1.
 

 

Alfred HEYES born Wellington St. Halliwell in 1879, son of Jackson HEYES, a bleacher, and Alice ROBINSON. He married
Lily Elisabeth Jane McBURNIE in 1898 at St James’ Church. He enlisted in 1914 and served in France with the  Loyal North Lancs Regt. until he was wounded and discharged in August 1916.
 

Alfred’s wife Lily was born at Toxteth Park, Liverpool in 1877, daughter of Hugh McBURNIE and Mary Jane REA  

Jackson HEYES, born 1898, Alfred and Lily’s eldest son. He served in WW1 but was invalided out with heart problems.

 

Alfred and Lily’s three daughters. Lily born 1910,  Doris born 1921 and Mary Alice born 1913. Charles HEYES born 1902 and his sister Mary Alice born 1913 at Acton St. Halliwell.   Lily HEYES sent this photo to her husband Alfred serving in France.  “Dear Husband .......... so cheer up and look at these till you come home again. This Labour Certificate is dated 2nd February 1898 and relates to Clara M Robinson, Derby Street School, Bolton. Ref: 2Q
