Notes for Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Highfill
Alton Farmer recalled her funeral to have been in Fulton, Kentucky. The tombstone at the Martin Family Cemetery reads "Mary E. Farmer, 1853 - 1929". The 1880 Weakley County census listed her first name as "Martha E". Her father’s will refers to her as Betty Farmer.

Alton Farmer told me that her grandchildren referred to her as Grantsy.

She lived in Union City, Obion County, Tennessee and ran a boarding house in the 1920 Census.
