Andrew Jackson Larner
Mary Laura Morrow
("Lady Larner")
Andrew Jackson Larner and Mary Laura Morrow were married on April 23, 1849 in Baltimore, MD.  According to the 1870 Washington, DC census, Andrew was born in Washington DC in 1827 and Mary was born in MD in 1829.  I don't have any further vital statistics on Andrew, except that Mary is listed as the widow of Andrew in the 1890-91 DC city directory.Mary died in Washington, DC on November 15, 1905 and is buried in Glenwood Cemetery.  According to Jean Fleming Larner, widow of Gorman deFreest Larner, deFreest knew her (his grandmother) as "Lady Larner"...

Three of four sons of Andrew and "Lady" Larner
Winfield Scott Larner - oldest son and oldest child of Andrew and "Lady" Larner. Born about 1852 and listed as surviving George in 1928.
Robert Martin Larner (1856-1906) - 3rd son of Andrew and "Lady" Larner, pictured with his wife, Adelaide deFreest, and son, Gorman deFreest Larner about 1897.
George Washington Larner, youngest son, and my great-grandfather (1863-1928). Worked in Customs and Immigration for 25 years
All of the sons, except George, lived their entire lives in Washington, DC.  Not pictured is Frank W. Larner, the second son, who was born about 1855 and died August 2, 1929 in DC.  Robert Martin Larner was a well-known newspaper reporter in Washington DC and Frank also worked in newspapers, and later for the government in DC.

The three daughters of Andrew and "Lady" Larner
Caroline "Carrie" Larner - youngest daughter.  Carrie never married, but worked for the government in Madrid, Spain and Paris, France.  She was born about 1869, and her date of death is currently unknown to this researcher, but she is listed as surviving my great-grandfather, George, who died in 1928.
Mary L. Larner - the oldest daughter.  Probably named for her mother.  Like her sisters, Mary never married, and worked for the government.  She was born about  1858, and died November 1, 1930.  In the 1920 census, she was living very near the White House and listed her occupation as a clerk with the U.S. Government.  She is buried in Glenwood Cemetery in Washington, DC.
Evelyn Larner - middle daughter of Andrew and "Lady" Larner.  Born in  about 1867 and listed in George's obituary as living in Brooklyn, NY, working for the government.  Like her sisters, Evelyn never married.  She died June 1, 1953 in Manhattan, NY and her ashes were interred at Glenwood Cemetery, Washington, DC on May 12, 1960.  Like George and Carrie, she was not listed in the 1870 DC census...
