  • Married 1883 to James Byrd Herd
  • Married 1926 to James Monroe Turner
  • Died: 9 NOV 1954, Carterville, Jasper County, Missouri

    Twin of Lou Jacob Trout.

Lucy married twice. Her first husband was James Bird Herd, who died from tuberculosis, on January 29, 1914. According to the Webb City Register (February 1, 1914), James Herd's three sons, John, Fred, and Arthur (aka: A.M.C.), while in route to be with their father, were involved in an accident on the Kansas City Southern railroad near Saginaw. John and Fred were injured and taken to St. John Hospital in Joplin. A.M.C. was able to continue on his journey to the bedside of his father, arriving there shortly before his death.

Lucy's second husband was James Monroe Turner. This was James Turner's second marriage also. He was first married to Josephine Chesterfield Trout, Lucy's sister. Josephine died on October 13, 1925, and within a year, Lucy and James were married.
