Notes for SETTIE VIOLA HAYDEN:
Settie Viola Hayden moved to the Sherman City, Kansas, neighborhood when she was about 10 in 1883 from Faulkner, Kansas. She was a member of the Sherman Baptist Church and the Center Valley Social Club. she had ten grandchlidren, 25 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren at her death at 92. She died in the Oswego hospital on September 16, 1965

Notes for EDITH PERRINE:
Edith Pirenne Beeman died at McCune, Kansas. She was born in Illinois and came to Sherman City, Kansas with her parents in 1879. In 1885 she taught school at Pea Ridge near McCune. She was married to Joseph Oscar Beeman in 1895 and they lived on a farm until they moved to Kansas City.

Joseph Beeman died in a robbery of his father's store, where he was shot. He was 19 years old at his death. The robbery was reported in the Kansas City Star

Notes for GLADYS SOPHIA SHAFFER:
Gladys Schaffer moved to the McCune and Oswego area of Kansas with her parents at the age of 16. She married Harry L. Frazier on December 30, 1912, in Columbus. He died December 11, 1917. She then married Truman E. Beeman, who died June 1952. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Oswego and was past member of several quilting clubs in the area for a number of years. She was buried in the Sherman City Cemetery. She was 99 when she died. She was preceded in death by five sons, two brothers and one sister. At her death she had 19 grand children, 39 great grandchildren and 39 great great grandchildren.

        i.      DELBERT ORMAN⁹ BEEMAN, b. January 17, 1924, Near Sherman City, Cherokee County, Kansas; d. February 14, 1943, Pittsburg, Kansas.

Notes for DELBERT ORMAN BEEMAN:

Delbert O. Beeman died in Pittsburg, Kansas, February 14 following an operation on the previous Friday. He was 19 years old. He became ill in January while working in an airplane factory in Wichita. He is buried in the Sherman City Cemetery.

Charles Richard Beeman, 14, died while swimming in a pond on the farm of his aunt and uncle, Charles and Alice Czpansky. His cousin Ray was swimming with him.

Notes for DALE EDGAR BEEMAN:

Dale Edgar Beeman was born on a farm near Sherman City. He grew up and attended schools in the Sherman City area. He worked on a farm all of his life, retiring in 1988. He was also in the Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater from 1942 to 1946. After his discharge he attended a vo-tech school at Oswego. He was a board member of the Oswego Co-op. He had one granddaughter and 15 step-grandchildren.

Notes for ELAINE JOYCE CAMERER:

Elaine Joyce Camerer lived in Oklahoma and Missouri before coming to Kansas with her parents. She was graduated from Columbus County High School and lived in Columbus for several years. She had memberships in the Sherman Baptist Church and the Columbus VFW Auxiliary Post 1372

She lived on Oswego Route 1.
