We, Thomas Burres and JAMES CARDIN, are held and firmly bound unto Henry
Lee, Esq., Governor or Chief Magistrate of Virginia, or his successors, in
the penal sum of 50 pounds, to which payment will and truly be made. We bind
ourselves, our heirs and jointly and severly, firmly by these presents, seal
with our seals and dated this 17th day of December 1792.
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a
marriage suddenly intended to be solemnized between the above bound Thomas
Burres and DICY CARDEN, spinster. If there be no lawful cause to obstruct
the said marriage, the above obligation to be void else to remain in full
force and virtue.
