Welcome to the Old Maysville Cemetery Page!
The Old Maysville Cemetery is located on the east edge of Harlan, Indiana in Allen County on
Indiana State Road 37.
These photos were taken on Memorial Day, 2001.
The Old Maysville Cemetery is an older cemetery, but well taken care of. The fact that it sits
very close (on the edge really!) of the road, SR 37, at the edge of town in plain view may help
the fact that it is cared for.
We have learned that some of the grave sites from this cemetery were moved, many years ago, to
the "New" Harlan Cemetery, which is located just on the south edge of town.
As close as the cemetery sits to the State highway, one must wonder if someone will once again try
to move some of the gravesites at some point in the future for road expansion.

Old Maysville Cemetery Memorial

Memorial with names inscribed of those who are buried here.
Coming Soon! Read the Inscriptions!!!
The Mills family plots are located close to the road, on the west side.
We found a Boger there as well, perhaps they are related.
This was our first attempt at photographing headstones. I thought if I had the
photograph, I would not need to write down what the headstone said. Oops! I
should have known better! Fortunately, the cemetery is only about a half hour
or so away, I hope to get back soon to transcribe some of the stones.
