Emma Pidgeon Biss, sister of William Pidgeon, Aunt to
William Pidgeon, Sr, George Pidgeon & Ann Pidgeon Cann. She apparently had lost touch with her
brother's children and
William Pidgeon, Sr. found her when he was in England for a visit in 1906.
She and her family apparently ran Summers Hotel in Exmouth and there was also a
Biss Hotel that they either owned or ran. |

Unknown Pidgeon Family Photos - This photo was taken by F. J. Weber
& Bros. Photographers - Erie, Penn. -
William Pidgeon, Sr. & Emily went first to Erie, PA when they
immigrated to this country. They had a daughter, Sarah Ann
Pidgeon, b. 1871, Devon, England and died 1880, buried in Rochester,
NY; I can only assume this is Sarah; Wm. Pidgeon, Jr. was born in
1874, when Sarah was 3 so he could be the infant in these photos.

I
believe George Pidgeon married Jane Hall before leaving England
for America in 1869. Her father was William Hall. I do
not know what happened to her but he remarried to Margaret at some
point and they had one son that I know of George B. Pidgeon (See
Obituary Pages) See Correspondence page - there is a mention
of Maggie in a letter written by William Pidgeon, Sr. after George's
death |
