Indenture made and entered into this 30th day of August 1837
between George W. Hoomes of the first part John M. Blondel &
Richard Ho Hoomes of the second part; George Fo Thornton,
George Po Turner, John Chandler, Norborne Eo Sutton & .roolfolk,
McDaniel & Coo of the third part and Susan Placette Hoomes wife
of the said George W. Hoomes of the fourth part- whereas the
said Georqe W. Hoomes is indebted to the parties of the third part
in the sum of money hereafter mentioned; and the said Hoomes
being willing & desirous of securing and saving them harmless from
any & all loss or damaqe on account of their debts against him;
and the said Hoomes being anxious to provide for the support &
maintenance of the said Susan Placette his wife during her life &
their children after her death- this Indenture therefore witnesseth
that the said George w. Hoomes for and in consideration of the
promises and of the sum of one dollar to him in hand paid by the
said Blondel & Ro Ho Hoomes, hath granted, barqained and sold,
and by these presents doth grant bargain & sell unto the said John
M. Blondel and Richard H. Hnnm~~ th~ir h~ir~ & fnr~v~r ~ c~rtain
hnu~E! and lot at the Bowling Green being part of the lot marked
Nw 4 in the division of the estate of Richard Hoomes dec£ among
his distributees in 1828 7 containing 3 acres 2 roads & 13
pA4C'~LS lying on the old Stage Road leadinq from
Fredericksburq to the Bowlinq Green- also all the interest which
the said George W. Hoomes now has or may hereafter have in the
estate now held by his mother Mrs. Hannah Gatewood for her in
the estate of her late husband and the said Richard Hoornes decd-
and also any property or estate or interest in any property or
estate whether in possession remains or remainder in the states of
Virginia or Kentucky or elsewhere- & the interest of the said
George W. Hoomes in the tract of land now held by WIn. N.
Dickinson & for which there is a suit now depending in the Circuit
Superior Court of Law and Chancery of Caroline ( 1 )
