But sorry, as I too have been unable to make any positive connections to date. Using over 20 different ways to spell the name for searching has resulted in data, but none of them have made a link to the Blissmer Family. A few of the examples include: Bliesmer, Blismer, Bliesemer, Blissmar, Blessmer, Blissman ...you get the idea. Never discount that the spelling of a name may be different, occurring over time and different countries and languages, or purely by accident. If you have never experimented with entering a variation of a name while performing a search, please try it. Roots, Ancestry, Ellis Island, or just a normal place like Google, Yahoo etc. could return some interesting results.
The American BLISSMER has been identified as BLIESEMER, from the Fehmarn Island, Germany. This may open new doors for further family history research. 3 German families made the journey to Calumet City, Illinois. Individual Family Trees at BLIESEMER to BLISSMER.
