John Peasnall from at least 1780 until his death and Thomas from birth? abt 1768  until death in 1853

And in this early picture, the house can be seen.  It was probably demolished in the 1930's as so many were in the village.  The gates to the right are to Sturgess' bake house.  The buildings on the left were in occupation at the time by wheelwright and carpenter Walter Chester.

The Peasnal's were three generations involved in the Brickmaking business. In 1841 son James is living at a Blisworth Brickyard as the a Brickmaker,  grandson William Peasnall recorded as Brickmaker.

Beneath the sand and limestone layers there is a deep layer of "lias" blue clay and the arrival of both canal and railway called for thousands of bricks to be made locally.  This  photograph is believed to have been taken at Asplin's brickyard which was located near to Blisworth Arm (actually in Gayton Parish).  The yard remained in operation until the 1930's and was a significant source of employment for villagers.

Although built after Thomas and James Peasnall in 1879 the Mill is an outstanding brick building , and today  is 21 apartment homes sitting next to the recreational Grand Union canal.
