received status as Bürger of the Pfälzer colony in Magdeburg, Oct. 23, 1693; at that time had one son and one daughter, and was said to be from Neuf Chatell.
[101],
[134]
Surname is spelled "Matté" or "Matthé" in the French language records of the Pfälzer or Französisch Colonie in Magdeburg.
[167]
There is a death record for an Abraham Matthieu, aged 61 years, on October 11, 1689; he was described as the school master (Maistre d' Eschole).
[166] Perhaps he is the father of this Abraham Matté. There was also a Susanne, daughter of the "deceased Abraham Matthieu," who died at the age of 11 years on August 7, 1693.
[166] Could she be the daughter of Abraham who died in 1689, and the sister of this Abraham (born 1665-7)?
ca 1690 when Abraham was 23, he married Marie Peregentil, in Magdeburg, Germany.
