He is listed in the Magdeburg Buttonmakers' Guild Book as taking three apprentices: 12 Oct 1723, Matthias Schilinger for 6 years of study; 19 Oct 1727, Gottfridt Christoffel Gaueé for 5 years of study; and 1 Feb 1737, Johann Friedrich Kohlschatt for 5 years of study. His son, Justus Daniel is also listed in the first quarter of 1737, with no length of time indicated.
