Husband's NotesNov 11, 1998 Jeff, what you e-mailed a little awhile go is my line of Bish's. Just wondering, i remember some one told me that when Adam Bisch Sr died in Dec 1790 his wife Elizabeth Catharine had to travel to some County Court House to get custody of her children. It was not close to where they lived.
Why i do not know but there was some kind record of it. Wondering if some of the children stayed with their Mother and some when with some on else. Only wondering. Jeff: How did you get the records for the church in Silver Run Maryland? In Adam's Jr line some of the children were Bapt at Jerusalem Church in Bachman Valley MD. Another question: is there some way to find out if some of the children were adopted by some one or if some one was given custody of some of them? Donna dbeetel@aol.com
March 12, 1999 To those of you who are descended from the Bish family in Armstrong, Clarion, and surrounding counties, I have most excellent news! We are indeed descended from Adam and Catherine Bish of York County, PA. I received the Orphans Court documents from York County today, and the following children are named as being minors in 1790: 1. John Bish 2. Peter Bish 3. Jacob Bish 4. Catherine Bish 5. Philip Bish 6. Mary Bish 7. George Bish 8. Ludwich Bish (Lewis?) I am shaking with excitement-- THIS is what I have been looking for. A document that names all of our guys at one time. The research that Donna Beetel's brother did is therefore correct, and this court document proves it. [Sherry Jesberger]
