1. Obituary
James C. Rainey, a resident of Mahaffey for the past seven years, died last evening, after a long illness, in his home. He was born May 1, 1877 in Chest twp, Clearfield County, a son of the late Robert and Hannah Pennington Rainey, and was married in 1896 to Martha Guthrie of Big Run.
Surviving are six daughters and three sons. Mrs. Mary Gill and Mrs. Ruby Holes of Youngstown, Ohio; Mrs. Hazel Singleton of Erie; Mrs. Elsie Holes of Clearfield; Mrs. Dorothy Clark of Cleveland, Ohio; Mrs. Violet Clark of Madera; Wilbert of LaJose; Ralph of Clymer, and Herbert of Youngstown, Ohio; 59 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.
Friends may be received at his late home in Mahaffey, R.D. after 8:00 this evening, where services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00pm in the Fairview Baptist Church in LaJose. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. R. H. White and Rev. Harrison Price will Conduct the ceremony.
