     Adam W. was a butcher in 1880 at Missouri.3
     Adam is a head of household, under the name of "Adam Ridle", on the 1880 U. S. Census for 225 High Street, Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. He was identified as a 38-year-old married white male who was born in Bavaria, as were his parents. Also included in this census was Lena Sachs, a 21-year-old single female, of no known relationship to head of household. She was born in Missouri and worked as a servant for Mr. Ridle.. Enumerated with him were: his wife, Magdalena, his sons Louis, William Adam, Charles, George and Lawrence, his daughter Nettie, his brother-in-law John Schneider.3 Adam W. Raithel applied for a pension on 5 August 1890, under the Pension Act of June 27, 1890, as the result of his service in the Civil War. His application number, filed from Missouri, is 850674 and the certificate number is 958334. He served as a Com Sgt. in the 10th Mo Cavalry, Company G in the 10th Missouri Cavalry.1 He was a member of the Garfield Branch of the Grand Army of the Republic. He served in Company G of the 10th Cavalry. in 1895 at Missouri.7
     Adam died in 1897.4 He was buried in 1897 in 1000-1022 East McCarty Street in Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri, in Row 5 A, Lot 113.4 His widow, Magdalena Schneider, applied for a widow's pension on 6 August 1899, under the Pension Act of June 27, 1890, as the result of his service in the Civil War.1

     Magdalena is a head of household, under the name of "Madgeline Raithel", on the 1910 U. S. Census for 227 East High Street, Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. She was identified as a 63-year-old widowed white female, born in Missouri. Her parents were born in Germany. She has borne nine children, six of whom are living. She is able to read, write, and speak English. She owns her home free of mortgage.. Enumerated with her were:, her son William Adam, her daughters Nettie and Clara.6 Magdalena Schneider lived in 1916 at 214 Lafayette Street in Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri.3 Her cause of death was Uremic congestion caused by chronic interstitial nephritis.3 Her obituary was published in the Russellville Rustler on 21 July 1916 at Russellville, Missouri.7 Her obituary stated:
Mrs. Raithel, widow of the late Adam Raithel, died at the family residence on Lafayette Street, last Tuesday morning after a brief illness. She was 68 years of age and was a highly respected lady. The funeral was conducted Thursday. She is survived by the following children: Nettie, Clara and August.
