Humes; dear grandfather of Katie and Connor Humes; dear brother-in-law of Cindy Todorovich and Nancy D. Peck; dear cousin and long time business partner of Louis H. (Linda) Bopp II and Richard C. (Jill) Mueller Jr; dear uncle, great-uncle, cousin and dear friend to many. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, September 24th, 2 p.m. at Church of the Annunziata, 925 Cella Road and Clayton Road. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery. Louis W. Humes - Co-owner of Bopp Funeral Chapel. Louis W. Humes, a co-owner of Bopp Funeral Chapel in Kirkwood, died Thursday (Sept. 20, 2001) at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur of a massive stroke. He was 61 and lived in Des Peres. A native of St. Louis, Mr. Humes attended the University of Missouri at Columbia and Washington University and later served in the Army Reserve. In 196, Mr. Humes became active at Bopp Funeral chapel in Kirkwood, which his grandfather, the late Louis H. Bopp, founded in 1902. Mr Humes worked as a funeral director at the chapel for 34 years and in 1972, he became a co-owner of the chapel with his two cousins, Louis H. "John" Bopp II and Richard C. "Dick" Mueller Jr. Mr. Humes was a past president of the Kirkwood Lions Club and received the Lions' Melvin Jones Fellow Award for humanitarian services. He was also a member of the National and Missouri Funeral Directors Associations and was affiliated with the International Order of the Golden Rule, an organization of independent funeral directors. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Humes was a member of the St. Louis Pointer and Setter Club, the National Shoot To Retrieve Association and the Busch Field Trial Club and chairman of the Midwestern Gordon Setter Association. visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Bopp chapel, 10610 Manchester Road, Kirkwood. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of the Annunziata, 925 Cella Road, Ladue. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Kirkwood. Among the survivors are his wife of 38 years, Judy Jones Humes of Des Peres; three sons, Timothy Humes of Troy, Mich., Christopher Humes of Jupiter, Fla., and Scott Humes of Des Peres; and two grandchildren.      Marguarete died on 13 September 1988 in St. Louis County, Missouri.1 Her obituary was published in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Newspaper on 14 September 1988.1 Her obituary stated:

Humes, Jr., dear aunt of Nancy Kastner, Edward Deuser, Louis Wm. and Jack Humes, dear great-aunt, great-great-aunt, sister-in-law, cousin and dear friend. Visitation Thurs., 2-8 p.m. at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Rd., Kirkwood. Funeral Fri., 10 a.m. at St. Lucas Church, 11735 Denny Rd., Sappington. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery

Daniel McCarthy

          Daniel McCarthy was born on 2 June 1882 in Ireland.1,2
     Daniel married Mary Hazlewood (her third marriage) after 1914.
     Daniel was laborer employed by Laclede Gas Company in 1929.1,2 At the time of (an unknown value) in 1929, Daniel and Mary resided at 1309 South 6th Street in St. Louis, Missouri.2
     Daniel died on 17 October 1929 at enroute to City Hospital #1 in St. Louis, Missouri, at age 47.3,4,1,2 His cause of death was acute dilatation of the heart from aortig insufficiency.2
     A conroner's inquest was held on October 18, 1929. The cause of death was determined. Unfortunatly Daniel's birth date was shown as July 2, 1873. His step-son, Leonard M. Berg filed an affidavit on November 6, 1929 stating the birth date was incorrect on the inquest and death certificate and the correct birth date was June 2, 1882. A corrected death certificate was issued on November 25, 1929.2 His obituary was published in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Newspaper on 20 October 1929.4 His obituary stated:
McCarthy, Dan - Entered into rest loved husband of Mary McCarthy (nee Berg) of San Antonio Tex., stepfather of Leonard, Fred, Arthur and Albert Berg and Mrs. Arthur Klingler, and our dear brother. Funeral Monday Oct. 21 at 9 a. m. from the Croghan funeral home, 7144 Manchester. Interment in New St. Marcus Cemetery
