     Dorothy married Charles W. Chandler, son of John Blemel, circa 1904.1
     Dorothy died on 21 January 1975 at Bonne Terre Hospital in Bonne Terre, St. Francois County, Missouri, at age 86.1 Her obituary was published in the Lead Belt News on 23 January 1975 at Flat River, St. Francois County, Missouri.1 Her obituary stated:
Dorothy Chandler of Bonne Terre passed away at the Bonne Terre Hospital on Jan. 21, 1975, being 86 years of age. She was born in Ironton Sept. 12, 1888, a daughter of the late John and Louisia (Sontag) Blemel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Chandler and her parents.
Surviving are:three sons, Daniel F. Chandler, San Diego, Calif., Charles H. Chandler, Bonne Terre, and James E. Chandler, Denver, Colo; two daughters, Mary Louise (Mrs Joseph Gercke), Kensington, Md., and Ruth (Mrs. James Laumand), Glendale; fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Services will be this morning, Thursday, January 23, 10:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Church in Bonne Terre, with Rev. Edward Hilgeman officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of C. Z. Boyer Services, Bonne Terre.
Rosary service was held Wednesday, January 22, 8:00 p.m. at the C. Z. Boyer Funeral Home in Bonne Terre

     Charles H. Chandler lived in 1975 in Bonne Terre, St. Francois County, Missouri.1 His obituary was published in the The Daily Journal on 18 July 2006 at Park Hills, St. Francois County, Missouri. His obituary stated:
BONNE TERRE — Charles Chandler, longtime Bonne Terre businessman, passed away July 16, 2006, after a lengthy illness, at the age of 85. Charles Henry Chandler was born in Bonne Terre on February 13, 1921, the son of the late Charles and Dorothy (Blemel) Chandler. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Glen Chandler.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Oral (Reed) Chandler; three daughters, Ann (Mrs. Bruce) Nethington of Kirkwood, Mo., Sue (Mrs. Jim) Berry of Santa Fe, NM, and Karen Chandler of Farmington; two granddaughters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Joe) Agnello of Kansas City, Mo. and Nicole Berry of New York, NY; three great-grandsons, Drew, Jack and Peter Agnello of Kansas City; two brothers, Dan Chandler of the Philippines and Jim Chandler of Denver, Co; two sisters, Mary Gerke of Tucson, Az. and Ruth Laumand of Carlsbad, Ca.

Mr. Chandler graduated from Bonne Terre High School in 1939. In 1941 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was a B-52 pilot in the European theater. On February 12, 1944 his plane was shot down over Anzio Beach and as the only survivor, he was captured and held as a prisoner of war at Stalag Luft One for fifteen months.

Upon his return from service, he owned Chandler Oil Company for 44 years. While in business, he donated his time and talents to various organizations: Rotary, where he was a past president; Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Bonne Terre Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts and the American Red Cross. Charles was also a director of the Bonne Terre Commerce Bank. His hobbies were numerous and included quail hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, swimming, beekeeping and a great love of horticulture.

Visitation at 5 p.m. Monday, July 17 at the C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Bonne Terre. Funeral services at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 18 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bonne Terre with Father John Schneider officiating. Interment at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

     Amos died on 10 April 1919 in Missouri at age 48.1,2 His cause of death was nephritis chronic accompanied by acute myocarditis.2
     The undertaker who handled his arrangements was A. Ellis at 727 North Kingshighway in St. Louis, Missouri.2 He was buried on 13 April 1919 in Valhalla Cemetery in Hanley Hills, St. Louis County, Missouri.8 Conflicting evidence placed his death in April, 1913 (Debbie Gilley files on Ancestry).8
