          Mary Christina Varney, daughter of (?) Varney and Lucinda Boone, was born in 1866 in Chillicothe, Livingston County, Missouri.1
     Mary married Doctor Everett Allen in 1888.1 Mary and Doctor Everett Allen lived in 1930 at 139 1st Avenue in Glendale, Maricopa County, Arizona.2
     Mary was enumerated as the wife of Doctor Everett Allen under the name of "Mary E. Allen" on the 1930 U.S. Census of Glendale, Maricopa County, Arizona, listed as a married 64-year-old female born in Missouri, her father was born in Ohio and her mother in Kentucky. She was married for the first time at the age of 22.2
     Mary died on 2 October 1968 in Arizona.1 Her obituary was published in the Chillicothe Missouri Constitution-Tribune Newspaper on 24 October 1968.1 Her obituary stated:
Mrs. Mary Christina Allen, 102, a former resident of Livingston County, died Oct. 2 at Glendale, Ariz. Memorial services were held the following Friday afternoon at the Lundberg Chapel of Chimes in Glendale. Mrs. Allen, a great-great-granddaughter of frontiersman Daniel Boone, had resided in Glendale since 1937. She was born near Chillicothe, shortly after President Lincoln was assassinated. Mrs. Allen was descended through the pioneer scout's youngest son, Nathan. Her mother, Lucinda Boone Varney, lived to the age of 94 and Colonel Boone. 89. After marrying in 1888, she encouraged her husband, the late Dr. Everett Allen, to study medicine. He began to practice near Hickory, Mo., in 1899 and she served as an office girl and nurse for 30 years. The couple went to Arizona in 1914 from Van Nuys, Calif., and settled in the Cartwright district. They farmed in the Glendale area before moving in 1933 to Duncan where her husband practiced medicine. Two years ago, when she celebrated her 100th birthday, Mrs. Allen attributed her length life to "divine power." She was a member of the Baptist church since she was 10 years old and in recent years belonged to the First Baptist church of Glendale. Survivors include a son, William W. Allen; a sister, Mrs. (Mont) Lona Dowell, formerly of Chillicothe, both of Glendale; five grandchildren; 17 great-grand children and seven great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Bulah Mast, 1216 Polk street and Harry Young, RFD 3, Chillicothe are niece and nephew of Mrs. Allen

     Doctor Everett Allen was mentioned in Mary Christina Varney's obituary on 24 October 1968 as preceding the deceased in death.1
