          George Combs, son of (?) Combs, was born in 1867 in Illinois.1
     George died in January 1916 in St. Louis, Missouri.1 His obituary was published in the Edwardsville Intelligencer Newspaper on 22 January 1916.1 His obituary stated:
The funeral of George Combs of Los Angeles, Cal., was held Tuesday afternoon from the home of his sister Mrs. Henry Blume on Main street where the services were conducted under the auspices of the order A. F. and A. M. No. 712 of which order deceased was a member. Interment was in Glenwood cemetery. Mrs. Combs was a former resident of Collinsville, this being the home of his boyhood after which he became one of its leading business men and conducted a store on Main street for many years. A number of years ago he removed to California where he prospered. Recently he was taken ill and was brought to a St. Louis hospital where he died. The remains were brought to Collinsville on Monday. He was 49 years old.

     His funeral service was held on 18 January 1916 from the home of his sister, Martha Blume. The services were conducted under the auspices of the order A. F. and A. M. number 7121 and he was buried in Glenwood Cemetery in Collinsville, Madison County, Illinois.1
