      William H. Osterwisch was also known as Wilhelm.      William H. Osterwisch, son of Christian Osterwisch and Charlotte (?), was born in May 1860 in Germany.1,3 Conflicting evidence placed his birth in 1862 (Immigration Passenger List).2
     William H. Osterwisch immigrated along with Christian Osterwisch and Charlotte (?) on 19 June 1871 at Clinton County, Illinois, traveling in steerage on the Steamship Hermann out of Bremen.2

     William H. was a clerk in a store in 1880.4 He and Christian H. Osterwisch lived in 1880 at 1600 Hebert Street in St. Louis, Missouri, (with L. D. Timermann).4 William H. Osterwisch and Christian H. Osterwisch were shown as neighbors on the 1880 U.S. census; both were boarding with L. D. Timermann.4
     William was enumerated on the 1880 U.S. Census of St. Louis, Missouri, where he was listed as a single 20-year-old male born in Prussia as were his parents. He was a boarder in the household of L. D. Timermann (no known relationship).4 He lived in 1889 at 1501 Cass Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri.3 He and Augusta Biermann obtained a marriage license on 28 March 1889 at Recorder of Deeds, St. Louis, Missouri.3
     William married Augusta Biermann, daughter of Gottlieb Biermann and Catherine Maria "Kate" Brune, on 28 March 1889 at Missouri. ceremony performed by J. Jonas, Pastor.3 William H. Osterwisch lived in 1890 at 1609 Hogan in St. Louis, Missouri.5
     William H. was a salesman in 1900.6
     Augusta and William H. Osterwisch lived in 1900 at 2116 Alice Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri. Residing with them were, their children Adele and William.6

He immigrated to thje United States in 1870. Other documentation states his immigration was in 1871.. Enumerated with him were: his wife, Augusta, his son William G., his daughter Adele L..6

     Augusta and William H. Osterwisch lived in 1910 at 2025 Fair Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri. Residing with them were, their children Adele and William.7
     William is a head of household on the 1910 U. S. Census for Missouri as "William Osterwish" listed as a married 49-year-old male born in Germany as were his parents. He immigrated in 1871, was naturalized, could read and write and was renting a home.. Enumerated with him were: his wife, Augusta, his son William G., his daughter Adele L..7
     William died on 27 May 1918.8,1,9 His obituary was published in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on 29 May 1918.9 His obituary stated:
Osterwisch - Entered into rest on Monday, May 27, 1918, at 2:45 p. m., William Osterwisch, beloved husband of Augusta Osterwisch (nee Biermann), dear father of Mrs. J. H. Eyermann and William Osterwisch Jr., dear father-in-law of J. H. Eyermann, dear grandfather of Russell Eyermann, and our dear brother, brother-in-law and uncle, aged 58 years.

     His funeral service was held on 30 May 1918 at from residence, 4566 Fair avenue, St. Louis, Missouri.9 He was buried on 30 May 1918 in St. Peter's Cemetery in Normandy, St. Louis County, Missouri.10

Paul Tomasovic
          Paul Tomasovic, son of George Tomasovic and Katerina Gulon, was born on 11 March 1911 in Missouri.1,2 Paul Tomasovic and George Tomasovic were twins.2 Paul Tomasovic was orphaned in 1917. He was raised at the Lutheran Orphans Home in Des Peres, Missouri.2
     He lived with his parent, George, in 1918 at 1040 Emmet Street in St. Louis, Missouri.3
     Paul was enumerated as an orphan with John L. Tomasovic, as "Paul Tomasovich", on the 1920 U.S. Census in the Lutheran Orphan Home, Des Peres, St. Louis County, Missouri, listed as an eight-year-old boy born in Hungary as were his parents.4
     Paul is an inmate on the 1930 U. S. Census for Lutheran Orphan Home, Missouri, listed as an 18-year-old male born in Missouri, both of his parents were born in Germany..5
     Paul Tomasovic graduated from St. Paul's College at Concordia, Lafayette County, Missouri, in 1932.2 He graduated in 1936 from St. Louis, Missouri, Concordia Theological Seminary.2
     Paul was serving in the Lutheran ministry from 1937 to 1940. He was stationed at Emmetsburg, Iowa, Kansas City, Missouri and Gadsden, Alabama.2
     Paul married Violet M. Martin, daughter of Jacob Martin and Marie (?), in 1938 at Markus Lutheran Church, St. Louis, Missouri.2,6
     Paul Tomasovic began military service in 1941 as a military chaplain.2
     During World War II, he traveled across Europe from Normandy to the Elbe with the ground forces.2
     Paul Tomasovic was released from active military duty in 1946. To continue his education.2 He attended at Washington University, Clayton, St. Louis County, Missouri, in 1946.2
     Paul Tomasovic began military service in 1947 again serving as a chaplain. He served for 28 years, attaining the rank of Colonel.2
     In the early 1950's he was known as the 'Flying Parson' because he covered some 50 small unites scattered over Europe, Africa and the Middle East.2
     He was the Air Force Chief of Chaplains in South East Asia.2 Violet and Paul Tomasovic lived at Air Force Village I in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.2
     Paul died on 19 November 2004 in Missouri at age 93.2 His obituary was published on 24 November 2004. His obituary stated:
Chaplain (Col.) Paul Tomasovic passed away on Friday, November 19, 2004. He was born on March 11, 1911 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the son of the late George Tomasovic and Katerina Gulon Tomasovic. Orphaned at the age of 6, he was raised at Lutheran Orphans Home in Des Peres, Missouri along with his brother John, his twin brother George and his sister, Ann, all of whom preceded him in death. On August 26, 2004, he lost his beloved wife of 66 years, Violet M. Tomasovic. He is survived by his son, Dr. Jerry Tomasovic and his wife, Carol and their children, Kathryn and Elizabeth, of San Antonio, Texas; his son, Richard Tomasovic and his wife, Donna of Orlando, Florida and their children, Jerry and his wife, Elaine of Tampa, Florida and their daughter, Debbie, living in Oregon; his daughter, Susan Tomasovic-Pearce and her sons, Scott, Thomas and Timothy, all of Alexandria, Virginia. Pastor Tomasovic graduated from St. Paul's College, Concordia, Missouri in 1932 and from Concordia Theological Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri in 1936. After serving in the parish ministry at Emmetsburg, Iowa, Kansas City, Missouri and Gadsden, Alabama, Pastor Tomasovic entered the military chaplaincy in 1941. In 1946, he left the chaplaincy to continue his education at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. He reentered the chaplaincy in 1947 and served his country for 28 years, attaining the rank of Colonel and being awarded many military medals and honors. In the early 1950's, he was known as the 'The Flying Parson' because he took spiritual care of some 50 small units scattered on the continents of Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He traveled across Europe from Normandy to the Elbe with ground forces during WWII, served in Japan, Vietnam, Germany and many assignments in the United States. He was appointed Air Force Chief of Chaplains in South East Asia. He will be remembered as a man of courage who was devoted to God, his country and his family. Chaplain Tomasovic was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Special gratitude is extended to his health care professionals at Air Force Village I and to the staff of Porter Loring Mortuary. The family will receive friends at 8:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. SERVICE FRIDAY NOVEMBER 26, 2004 9:30 A.M. SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH 6914 WURZBACH RD. Pastor Dan Mueller will preside over both the memorial and graveside services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Air Force Village 'Freedom House'.      Lorraine married George Tomasovic, son of George Tomasovic and Katerina Gulon, circa 1931.1 At the time of his death in 1956, George and Lorraine resided at 1134 Vinetta Drive in Des Peres, St. Louis County, Missouri.2 Her husband, George Tomasovic, died on 16 January 1956 at age 44. She was the informant on his death certificate.1,2
     Lorraine died in January 1978 at age 64.1 She was buried in January 1978 in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Des Peres, St. Louis County, Missouri.3
