Adele died on 19 March 1940 at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, at age 50, John H. Eyermann was the informant on the death certificate.3,10 Her cause of death was lobar pneumonia.3 Her obituary was published in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on 19 March 1940.10 Her obituary stated:
