     Henry is a head of household on the 1900 U. S. Census for Jackson Township, Maries County, Missouri. He was identified as a married 45-year-old farmer born in Missouri. Both of his parents were born in Germany. He owned a farm which was mortgaged and listed on farm schedule 69. Enumerated with him were: his wife, Mary, his sons Joseph and Anthony, his daughters Anna C., Augusta J., Mary Catherine, Bernadine and Gertrude.6
     Henry Otto appeared on the 1910 tax roll of Jackson Township, Missouri. The property covered was described as 40 acres in NENE portion of section lot 32, township 40, range 9; 15 30/100 acres in NWNE portion of section lot 32, township 40, range 9, and 40 acres in SWSE portion of section lot 32, township 40, range 9. The property was valued at $60.00, $130.00 and $330.00 respectively.7
     Henry was a blacksmith in 1916.3
     He left a will signed 15 December 1916 at Vienna, Maries County, Missouri, in which beneficiaries were Augusta J. Otto, Bernadine "Bernie" Otto, Anthony "Tony" Otto, Anna C. Otto, Mary Catherine Otto and Mary Buschmann, the witnesses were Henry Joseph Buschmann.8 His will stated "Last Will and Testament of Henry Otto
In the name of God Amen.
I, Henry Otto, of the City of Vienna, County of Maries, State of Missouri, being now in good health, strength of body and mind but sensible to the uncertainty of life and desiring to make disposition of my property and affairs while in health and strength do hereby make, publish and declare this to be my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking and canceliing all other will by me at anytime made.
Article First: I direct the payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses as soon as possible after my decease.
Article Second: I give and bequeath unto my son Anthony Otto the sum of one dollar ($1.00)

     Henry died on 24 December 1916 at Jackson Township in Missouri at age 62, John Heinrich Otto was the informant on the death certificate.3,2 His cause of death was cancer of the prostate gland and bladder.3

          Mary Buschmann, daughter of Joseph Buschmann and Maria Christina Josephina Lohre, was born on 7 November 1854 in Westphalia, Osage County, Missouri.3 Conflicting evidence placed her birth in November 1858 (1900 census).4 She was baptized on 10 November 1854 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Westphalia, Osage County, Missouri.2
     Mary married Henry Otto, son of Anton Joseph Otto and Anna Catherine Hagenhoff, on 10 April 1877 at Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna, Maries County, Missouri. The marriage ceremony was performed by Reverend Jos. Hellwing C.P.. they were the ninth couple to be married in the church.1,5,3
     Mary was enumerated as the wife of Henry Otto under the name of "Mary Otto" on the 1900 U. S. Census for Jackson Township, Maries County, Missouri. She was listed as a 46-year-old female born in Missouri. Both of her parents were born in Germany.4 Mary Buschmann was named a beneficiary in the will of Henry Otto on 15 December 1916.6 Her husband, Henry Otto, died on 24 December 1916 at age 62.7,3
     She left a will signed 28 December 1916 at Maries County, Missouri, in which beneficiaries were Anthony "Tony" Otto, Anna C. Otto, Augusta J. Otto, Mary Catherine Otto and Bernadine "Bernie" Otto, Joseph Otto and Gertrude Otto were not mentioned.8 Her will stated "Last Will and Testament of Mary Otto
In the name of God Amer.
I, Mary Otto, of the City of Vienna, County of Maries, State of Missouri, being now in good health, stregth of body and mind but sensible to the uncertainty of life and desiring to make dispositon of my property and affairs whle in health and stregth do hereby mae, publish and declair the following to be my last will and testament hereby revoking and canceling all other or former wills by me at any time made.
First
I direct the payment of all my just debts and funeral expenses as soon as pollible after my decease.
Second
I give and bequeath unto my son Anthony Otto the sum of ten dollars (10.00)
Third
All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, real, personal and (?) whatsoever and wheresoever, I give, bequeath and devise to my beloved daughters: Annie Valmert, Augusta Otto, Marie Otto and Bernadine Otto. Equaly share and share alike.
In witness whereof, I have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal hereunto this the twenty Eighth day of December in theyear of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and (?). (1916
Maria Otto."8
     Mary died on 31 December 1923 in Missouri at age 69.3,2,9 Her cause of death was angina pectoria.9
     The undertaker who handled her arrangements was John J. Fennessey in Vienna, Maries County, Missouri.9 She was buried on 2 January 1924 in Visitation Catholic Cemetery in Vienna, Maries County, Missouri.3,10,9
