     The family lived on Berry St., Webster Groves, Missouri when June and Mary Jane were growing up. This was not too far from where the Neubert's lived.
Bob Thomas reports Hazel married Wirt because he bought her a dress. She was reported to have later come to her Mother saying she wanted to leave him. Her Mother told her to go back to him, "you made your bed, now sleep in it".
Hazel suffered several nervous breakdowns during her married life. During these times the children often stayed with their Aunt Ida and her family.
She raised her family as Lutheran, and may have been married in a Lutheran church.1      Hazel Sibothan, daughter of Thomas H. Sibothan and Margareth Jane Diamond, was born on 28 July 1895 in Pennsylvania.2
     Hazel married Wirt Edward Knapp (his second marriage) , son of John W. Knapp and Nancy Isabell Tull, circa 1915 at Missouri.
     Hazel and Wirt Edward Knapp lived in 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri. Residing with them were, their children Laura and Wirt.2
     Hazel was enumerated as the wife of Wirt Edward Knapp under the name of "Hazel Knapp" on the 1920 U.S. Census of ward 24, St. Louis, Missouri, listed as a married 25-year-old woman born in Pennsylvania, her father was born in New York and her mother in Pennsylvania.2
     Hazel and Wirt Edward Knapp lived in 1930 at 809 Big Bend Boulevard in Oakland, St. Louis County, Missouri. Residing with them were.3
     Hazel was enumerated as the wife of Wirt Edward Knapp under the name of "Hazel S. Knapp" on the 1930 U.S. Census of Oakland, St. Louis County, Missouri, listed as a 35-year-old female born in Pennsylvania as were her parents. She was married for the first time at the age of 24 and owned a home valued at $13,000.00 and a radio, he was not a veteran.3
     Hazel died on 25 February 1937 in St. Louis County, Missouri, at age 41.

     He was enumerated with his parent Heinrich Tegtmeier on the 1860 U. S. Census for township 3 north, range 8 west, Madison County, Illinois. He was listed as an 18-year-old female born in Hanover, Germany and employed as a laborer.1
     Fred Tegtmeier served circa 1862 in the Missouri Volunteer Cavalry during the Civil War.2 He was naturalized in October 1863 at the Circuit Clerk in Edwardsville, Madison County, Illinois. Listed in book 5, page 354.3
     Fred married Louisa Gerfen in 1864.2
     Louisa and Fred Tegtmeier lived in 1929 at Pin Oak Township in Madison County, Illinois. Residing with them were, their children Fred, Henry and August on a farm north of Troy. He had settled there after serving in the Civil War and marrying Louisa.2
     Fred died on 24 January 1929 at Pin Oak Township in Illinois at age 88.2 His obituary was published in the Edwardsville Intelligencer Newspaper on 25 January 1929.2 His obituary stated:
Fred Tegtmeyer, Sr., resident of Madison county for seventy-five years and the last surviving workman on the old Madison County Court House, died at his home in Pin Oak township north of Troy last night at 6 o'clock. Although he had been declining in health for some time, he was able to be about and was confined to his bed only a week.
     Complications with attacks of the heart during the past few days caused his death. His critical condition was realized during the early part of the week.
     Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, leaving the family residence at 1:30 o'clock. Services will be conducted at St. Paul's Lutheran church at Troy at 2 o'clock. Rev. C. Lange will have charge. Burial will be made at the Lutheran cemetery.
     Mr. Tegtmeyer was born at Neustadt, Hanover, Germany on October 26, 1840 and had attained the age of 88 years, 3 months and 28 days.
     He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tegtmeyer who came to America in 1852. The family settled on Pleasant Ridge, north of Collinsville and he lived there until 1865.
     During 1855 and 1856 he worked in Edwardsville, being employed at the brickyard where material for the old Court House was prepared. He was employed in hauling brick from the yard to the job. After unloading the brick he often laid a few in the wall.
     While the Civil War was in progress he joined the Missouri Volunteer Cavalry and saw service before it ended.
     During 1864 he was united in marriage with Miss Louisa Gerfen. After the close of the Civil War he located on a farm which was his home during the remainder of his life.
     He was the last charter member of St. Paul's church at Troy and for many years took an active part in affairs of the congregation.
     His wife preceded him in death during 1917. Two children of a family of eight are also dead. Six sons survive. They are Fred, Henry and August Tegtmeyer who live at the old home, William Tegtmeyer of Troy and Charles and Herman Tegtmeyer of St. Louis.

     His funeral service was held on 27 January 1929 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Troy, Madison County, Illinois.2 He was buried on 27 January 1929 in St. Paul's Cemetery in Madison County, Illinois.2
