Tilie Eads, 87, Vienna, died Wednesday in the Maries Manor Health and Rehabilitation Center, Vienna. She was born June 15, 1906, at St. Elizabeth, a daughter of Ferdinand and Theresa Massman Volmert. She was married April 28, 1948, to Carlos Eads, who died Nov. 13, 1993.

She was a member of the Visitation Catholic Church, Vienna. She was a housekeeper in St. Louis before moving back to Vienna and operating Tillie's Café and Cash Market Grocery Store.

Survivors include two sisters, Elizabeth Schwartz, St. Louis, and Rose Stratman, Jefferson City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Visitation Catholic Church. The Rev. Tom Waickman will officiate. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery.

Volmert and Gertrude Ost in 1880 from St. Thomas, Cole County, Missouri to St. Elizabeth, Miller County, Missouri.³
     John married Theresa "Trise" Massman, daughter of Joseph Massman and Elizabeth Schellert, on 26 November 1891 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, St. Elizabeth, Miller County, Missouri.^1,4 John Ferdinand "Faith, Fate" Volmert and Theresa "Trise" Massman moved in 1892 to Little Tavern River, Maries County, Missouri.⁴ He and Theresa "Trise" Massman moved in 1897 to Little Maries River, Dixon, Pulaski County, Missouri.⁴ He and Theresa "Trise" Massman moved in 1898 to Henry Renkemeyer farm, St. Anthony, Miller County, Missouri.⁴ He and Theresa "Trise" Massman moved in 1907 to Argyle, Osage County, Missouri. He owned a farm which was listed as item 95 on the farm schedule and a radio. Enumerated with him were: his wife, Theresa, his son Louis.⁵ John Ferdinand "Faith, Fate" Volmert, Herman Edward Volmert and John Richard Copeland were neighbors according to the 1930 census.
