          Millie Jane Copeland, daughter of Solomon J. Copeland and (?) (?), was born circa 1828 in Jefferson County, Tennessee.1 Millie Jane Copeland moved along with Solomon J. Copeland and Malinda Sample in 1832 from Blount county, Tennessee to Maries County, Missouri. They settled on the lower Big Maries Creek.2
     Based on age, Millie Jane Copeland was probably listed on the 1840 U.S. Census at Maries Township, Greene County, Missouri, as a free white female, fifteen and under twenty years old and residing with Solomon J. Copeland.3
     Millie (her first marriage)married James Hancock on 19 April 1849 at Massac County, Illinois.4 Her husband, James Hancock, died in April 1850; of pneumonia.4
     Millie (her second marriage)married Leander Doyle circa 1852 at Illinois.4 Millie Jane Copeland and Leander Doyle moved in 1858 from Massac County, Illinois to Missouri.4
