Benjamin died on 12 March 1904 in Maries County, Missouri, at age 75.5 He was buried in Bumpass Cemetery in Weldon, Maries County, Missouri.5
He was a prominent early day physician who 'read medicine' under Dr. Rainey. He attended Missouri University after which he began his active practice in 182.2
