     Based on age, Polly Millington was probably listed on the 1840 U.S. Census at Adams Township, Henry County, Ohio, as a free white female, fifty and under sixty years old and residing with Joseph Stone.2 Polly Millington was also known as Mary.3      Polly Millington was born in 1790 in Vermont.3 Conflicting evidence placed her birth in New York (1860 census).4
     Polly married Joseph Stone.1 Polly Millington and Joseph Stone moved circa 1835 from Onondago, New York to Defiance County, Ohio. Moving with Polly were Jane Stone.5 Her husband, Joseph Stone, died after 1847.5 Polly Millington moved circa 1850 from Defiance County to Edward Gunn farm, Henry County, Ohio.5
     She was good at spinning and weaving, but was considered to be the most expert cheese maker in Henry County.5
     Polly was enumerated as the mother-in-law of Edward McCartney Gunn under the name of "Polly Stone" on the 1860 U. S. Census for Napoleon Township, Henry County, Ohio. She was listed as a 70-year-old female born in New York. She was living with her daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Edward Gunn.4
     Polly was enumerated as the mother-in-law of Edward McCartney Gunn under the name of "Mary Stone" on the 1870 U. S. Census for Napoleon Township, Ohio. She was listed as an 80-year-old female born in Vermont. She was living with her son-in-law and daughter, Jane and Ed Gunn.3
