GEORGE BLANTON

 

PAGE 144.  22 JAN 1796. PROVED OCT. TERM 1802.  I, GEORGE BLANTON, being weak & frail in body, but sound mind and memory.  Executors are BURREL* BLANTON & WILLIAM BLANTON.  First all debts to be paid.  I leave to my beloved wife SUSANAH BLANTON, all and every part of my estate, both real and personal during her life or widowhood. After her death to be divided among my children. viz. BURREL BLANTON, ANN BRIDGES, CATHERINE BRIDGES, WILLIAM BLANTON, BETSY BRIDGES, FRANCES BLANTON, JOHN BLANTON, MARY BLANTON, PEGGY BLANTON AND RICHARD BLANTON.  Wit: JOHN BLANTON, JEREMIAH ????EGES.  Signed: George Blanton.

PAGE 15.  12 June 1833.  Recorded April Court 1835.  I, GEORGE BLANTON, being in perfect mind & memory.  I will my beloved wife, PRISCILLA BLANTON, the mansion house & farm and $300.00, also all household items, except as the children marry off they are to have a bed & furniture worth $30.00.  I give unto MARGARET BLANTON, Mary a negro, about 13 years old.  To William Beaty Sawyers Blanton, Matilda a girl about 17 years old.  To James HILL BLANTON , Clarissa a negro about 11 months old and money enough to make her worth $350.  To GUILFORD EAVES BLANTON $350. To a child expected in a few months $350. The above named negros & money to stay in the hands of my wife PRISCILLA, until said chn. come of age.  I appoint my brother CHARLES BLANTON & my brother-in-law House Harrell, my executor.  Wit: Samuel Harrell, jurat.  A.D. GEORGE BLANTON

 

PAGE 371.  23 June 1858.  Recorded Fall Court 1859.  Being of sound & good memory.  I desire my executors to pay all funeral charges & just debts.  I give unto my beloved wife 350 acres of land known as the GEORGE BLANTON & ALFRED WEBB tracts and all rent that may be due from said land.  I also give unto my wife PRISCILLA one negro man named Emanuel & one woman named Nancy, at death or marriage to another person the said negro Nancy to return to my estate.  Also I give her $400 in money, household items (named) all property she brought with her, two cows & two hogs.  I give unto my sons JOHN, WILLIAM P. & JULIUS C. BURGE two tracts of land containing 550 acres to be equally divided among them so that WILLIAM P. shall have the place whereon I now live.  I give unto my son JOHN, negro man named Harry.  I give unto my son WILLIAM P. negro man named Eli.  I give unto my son JULIUS C. negro named Sidney, also each to have their bed and furniture, and horse they are now using.  All other property to be sold and money divided among my heirs.  I appoint my sons WILLIAM P. & JULIUS C. BURGE my executors.  Wit: O.P Gardner, N. M. Floyd, jurat. Signed: John BURGE.
