I am looking for any information on my grandfather Gus
Blanton, I really do not have much information other than he was born
possibly in Harlan County, Kentucky on December 2, 1916 and I know that he
passed away in Arizona on July 25th, 1970. He was married to Helen Doris
Gibson, they had 3 daughters, Jean, Patricia and Mary (my mother). I am
attempting a family tree and I need to order a birth certificate of my
grandfather, however I do not know anything of his family, my mother does
not remember her grandparents names either. She does remember that he had a
brother that went by the name of "Fonzie" she does not know if
that was his real name or a nickname that was given to him. It is possibly
that my grandfathers real first name was William and Gus being his middle
name, but he chose to go by that name. Any information that you could
provide would be greatly appreciated.
I am the 5th child of John Calvin Blanton born in Crane

What a great website, I really enjoyed reading it, I'm truly impressed. But
I do have to say I must be a "Mutt" Blanton. I only know of a
great-great-great Grandfather named John Blanton whom moved to Marysville,
(NW) MO soon after the Civil War from Tennessee and the
family stayed in that area until my Father moved to California while in
the Army. If there's a lineage of Blanton's with blue eyes, strong noses,
and built powerfully strong I must be of that line. Have a good day
I love your web site. My grandfather was Robert Blanton. We
have finally found out that we are from the Blanton-Womack family. found
that out from Robert Stafford and a DNA test, from a member of my family.
Thanks to everyone that helped me along the way and a great big thanks to
Robert. And a God Bless to all. Dee in Arkansas
Hi! I found your website very helpful, thank you! I am a
junior in high school and am doing a geneaology project in my Word Study 2
class about my surname and origin. I have also been very interested in
learning about my family tree and have tried several times to at least make
some sort of start but there's so much information out there! If any one
has any other Blanton information that might help me that would be greatly
appreciated and maybe if someone has some idea about where to get started
and would like to share it I would be so greatful. I don't know where to
start! Thank you so much! Erica

I want to thank all the Blanton Family researchers for their
regards in our BFH's Guest Book. It is inspiring to read the comments here.
It is our intention as BFH's to continue to post to our website for the
benefit all our Blanton family branches. We strive to provide reliable
Source's for any info or statement of fact we add to the site. If all researchers
would include a reliable Source for each statement of fact regarding their
ancestors, this would benefit all of us. Everyone have a great and
interesting journey as you trek along the genealogy trail. Jenelle BLANTON

Hi, I visited your site some time back, just want to say how
nice it is, hopefully I will be able to find something along the way about
my line of Blanton's. Bob has ordered a DNA kit for me, looking at possibly
Judge George Blanton connection, not sure at this time.
Doing a search for Marilyn Blanton Garrett of Lafayette, IN. There is
a small area known as Stone Bluff close to Veedersburg, IN where
the Blanton's lived, but they may have come from from a KY migration.
Marilyn talks about her grandmother Blanton being from England and
sipping tea. Wait until she hears about the Blanton DNA testing! Can't wait
to tell her. Thanks for letting me surf your site. Barb Flory
