Be it remembred (sic) that on the seventh Day of February in the thirty third year of the Reign of our Lord George the second of great Britain France & Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth. We Joseph NORTON & Thomas BAXTER of Caldwell in the County of Derby do acknowledge ourselves to owe John GRESLEY of Wirksworth in the County of Derby Esquire Eighty Pounds viz the said Joseph NORTON Forty Pounds and the said Thomas BAXTER Forty Pounds of good & lawful Money of great Britain to be respectively made & levied of our several Goods and Chattles Lands & Tenements to the Use of the said John GRESLEY and his Heirs &c: if We the said Joseph NORTON and Thomas BAXTER shall be guilty of the unwritten Offences. |
