He married Elizabeth Carter in Preston in 1829 and they had at least 11 children of which 5 were boys (although one died as an infant). Richard was listed as a blacksmith in Preston in the 1841 census, working on the High St I believe. In 1851, he was still operating as a blacksmith on the High St, and in 1861 the family had moved to Gt. Hanover St, where he was still a blacksmith, aged 56. He died around 1878. Contact Mike by |
| | PARKER | Thomas | Blacksmith | 1764: Thomas Parker, blacksmith. Thomas was born circa 1764 in Lytham. Married Rosamond Ashcroft in Preston in 1793. They had 10 children, of which 6 were boys, from 1793 through 1815. they moved from Preston to Warton around 1800 and then to Kirkham around 1805. Thomas was first noted as a blacksmith in Kirkham in 1811 (Holden's Trade Directory 1811). In 1841, he was still a blacksmith, aged 77 (noted as "75" on the 1841 census), and in fact he was also still listed as a blacksmith in 1851, aged 87, when living with his youngest daughter Ann and her family. Thomas died in 1854 at her house in Liverpool and was buried at St. Michael’s Church in Kirkham. Of Thomas’ children, John, James.
