Note: Haplogroup R1b1a2 y-DNA has proved this Henry, son of Philip Petty Pool and Mary Tapley, is not related to our Isaac Pool line at all through the Pool surname, whose DNA is I1a Haplogroup. But after putting in so much time and effort between Pat Bonneau and I, I want to present it to you as the info below is searchable on the net of my web pages for those who do descend from this Henry.

There were many ways to be in the Daughters of the American Revolution. Besides having an ancestor who was a soldier, some were recognized due to service rendered or supplies provided. This Henry Pool according to census records was born 1759-1765 in County Suffolk, England, lived in Darlington District, South Carolina, and died in Warren County, Georgia where he was granted land for military service of some kind. The daughters of Henry Pool, Sarah and Mary Newsom, were sworn to be his daughters by their nephew Tillman Newton Pool, son of Henry Pool Jr. This also proves that Henry Jr. and Sarah and Mary Newsom were siblings, as my genealogy buddy, Pat Moore Bonneau, my husband's cousin pointed out. Even so, spinster Sarah Pool and widow Mary Pool Newsom were never given a pension.

Henry Pool Sr listed in Roster of Revolution Soldiers in Georgia, Vol 1 page 141
Henry Pool Sr. is listed at the end of page 141 and cont'd on page 142. This listing states he was born in 1759 in England, and married his first of three wives, Susan Ratchett in England. I believe the name of Susan was misread in earlier documents, and that her surname should be Radcliff as many DAR descendants quoted in records. Other surname spellings for Susan are Ratchet and Ratlett.
Listed as Henry's second wife was Mary Hutchinson, and listed as his third wife was Eleanor Hutchinson, probably sisters.

Henry Pool Sr. bio is cont'd on page 142 with his daughters Sarah and Mary, NSDAR members. The bio also states that Henry Pool and Philip Pool were both buried in Warren Co, Georgia. I have not seen another listing of Philip Pool in this edition.

Henry R. Pool, Jr first married Mary Ann Cason, 28 Jan 1817 according to DAR records of American Revolution soldier William Cason, Mary's father. Her mother was Janette Rodgers. William Cason was in the Amer. Rev. in Camden District, South Carolina.
