Parish Names in Fermanagh
I am trying to add histories and records here.
This may take some time to accomplish.
Many Marriages and Births have recently been added.
** Derryvullan page now includes 1821 census fragments.
** Enniskillen page has a list of names from a 1689 address to the King
** 1825-1835 Tithe Applotment Index is now sorted by Parish and Townland **
For an alphabetical index of the marriages and births included in the Parish Records and Histories click here.
To assist figuring out some of those old records and such,
there is a page of measurement equivilents here.
Here is one of the best 'short' descriptions of the famine of 1846-48, and America's response to it, I have read in some time. This was written from an American perspective, at the time.

Books about
Cavan
- Drumkilly:
From Ardkill Mountain to Kilderry Hill. Edited by Tom
Sullivan, Drumkilly History Committee,
2000.
- Knockbride
- A History. E. Markey and J. Clarke,
1990s.
Both books are
excellent local histories but do not give an overall story
of the county. A local history of Arvagh has been written
but I have not read it. The books can be ordered by writing
to Crannog Bookshop, Unit 1, Newcourt Shopping Centre,
Church Street, Cavan, Co. Cavan, phone/fax 049-433-2861.
They do not have a web page, nor e-mail.
