8. Go to Pennsylvania and click


9. Go to Washington (County) and click


10. Go to North Strabane (Township) and click then WAIT for the image to appear. If you are on a slow connection, it may take minutes. BE PATIENT.


11. Go to the bottom of the image and click DETAIL MODE. You usually only have to do this once, and it will stay set for all the rest of your sessions. You'll be able to skip this step from now on.


12. Click View Full Screen and WAIT.

13. The cursor will appear as a plus sign in a circle.
This is the icon for ENLARGE. Put it near the upper right corner, where the page number is, and click.

If you click too many times and it gets too big, put the cursor on the minus sign in the circle at the top left hand side, click, then click on the page.
14. Click on the HAND now. That allows you to move the image around. Put the hand on the page and practice moving it.

15. Notice that the first page we have open, Image #1, is page 743. We need page 767. The 1860 census has one image per page, so we subtract 743 from 767 and get 24. We need to add 24 images to the one we have, so put the number 25 in this space and click " GO to IMAGE":



If you click the arrows, you go one image ahead or back.
